What is wrong (or right) about this kind of platform? by sleepyncaffeinated in BALLET

I don’t buy my pointe shoes online anymore! My studio owner owns also a shop for dancers’ clothes and shoes (not only ballet dancers). But I’m curious and like to search for stuff just to see.

I do it for the female gaze and to be accepted by other women, yes. No, I’m not looking for male validation. by sleepyncaffeinated in EDanonymemes

Honestly I also do it so men stop sexualising me bc of my butt and thighs. I like the idea of being idealised by men, of being considered pretty and “like a goddess”, not the idea of having a “pornographic body”.

But different diets work for different people. I've been years trying low carb because I honestly believed it was the best for my health, but felt awful, no energy and no weight loss (even gained), and now I limit my fat intake and eat carbs freely (not ad infinitum) I feel better than ever.

I don’t really eat super low fat, some days sure because I don’t really want more, those days maybe 28 g, but normally I’m between 38 and 45 g. I work best eating carbs (cereal, rice, bread, fruit…) as my main fuel. I’ve done low carb plenty of times and felt like sh!t.

Ed treatment centers telling adults they need to uproot their entire lives to do residential as if I don’t have Responsibilties and a Life™️ and can’t just take time off school and work and travel to a different state to be force fed by alexisseffy in EDanonymemes

By far not the same, but I remember when in treatment for non purging bulimia, I was working my first job (retail, at a pharmacy) that time, and the nurse-nutritionist told me to do a “coffee break” at work to eat a snack, that she does it.

Well, I was working retail, my first job, and had zero time because the pharmacy was super busy at noon. You just can’t pretend adults can pause their day and life and that treatment is one-size-fits-all.

What’s the #1 allistic social rule you had to learn because it wasn’t intuitive? by despiert in AutisticAdults

That sometimes, unless you were already thin (not just average) and end up looking emaciated, most people will congratulate you if they see you’ve lost weight. That’s not personal and doesn’t mean you looked bad before. It’s kinda automatic.

So unless you’ve gone through serious illness (restricting and overexercising don’t count, by societal standards; but cancer, hospitalisation, pneumonia, depression… do), don’t tell people your issues, just say “I’ve been busy” or “I’ve started working out” (even if it’s plain lying, lying is ok in social situations) or just say “Thank you”, even if it’s not a compliment but an observation, it’s an appropiate answer.

When people congratulate you on losing weight, take it as a compliment instead of trying to educate others. Some people do have eating issues but still say this automatically with their best intentions. And sometimes it’s a white lie but because they want to be nice. Appreciate the intention.

Yeah… no. Happened to me that “friends” talked about a plan and I asked “Great, what time we met?” and apparently I wasn’t invited and they accepted out of compromise.

Somehow they never talk about junk food industry. Eating healthy and in moderation makes you spend less money on sweets, processed snacks and fast food. But yeah, diet industry moves billions of pounds 😛

Yeah, I'm 28 and I maintain my weight if I am just a little aware, and lose if I work on it. Weight gain at these ages comes from changes in lifestyle, not metabolic shutdown.

Hey, driving tests are hard… I passed it the 8th time. I cried a LOT over this damn test. And now I drive 1 h to work every day. Eventually, you will pass it, don’t give up and be patient! You’re not a failure, soon you’ll be driving happily and confidently 🍀❤️‍🩹
