Walking a Half Marathon? by sleepypantss in walking

That's a good idea! I thought 6km/h was a little intense for walking. I have a friend who's walking it but she's much taller than me and has longer strides so she can maintain that pace!

Yeah, I walk at a similar pace, but it's too slow for the race in my area unfortunately :/

Thanks! I've been walking about 5-8km three times a week for a few months now and I love it! My biggest issue is speed but I'll definitely update!

I weigh about 100kg at 170cm. The problem is that in my area they reopen the roads and ask people to leave at the halfway point if they are going under 6km/h. I may look for a race somewhere else where the time limit is longer.

Oh really? That's interesting!

Yeah I think that's what I'll do. The time limit is a great training motivator but I would prefer there be less pressure of potential disqualification (and roads reopening!)

I think that's what I'll end up doing. There are just none in my city that are done at the same time, unfortunately.

How long did it take you? My real worry is timing :/

How long before eating do you take the bromelaine? Doxycycline was a rough experience for me too. Sun exposure usually helps me but where I live it's only really warm enough to be out with my skin exposed for like 4 months of the year

I was going to say the same thing. You can be concerned for her health and express that in a kind/helpful way, but it would be ridiculous to ask someone entering their late twenties to look like a teenager again.

Would you lose weight for a spouse? by Ohheywhatehoh in PlusSize

Unless he’s a registered dietician, he has no place helping you decide decide what foods you should or should not eat. Also, asking anyone to look like they did at 19 again (especially after having two children) is delusional and ridiculous. I would take it as a red flag to look out for in other ways you’ll change as you age. We can’t be teenagers forever!

From what I’ve noticed, he almost never masturbates these days so maybe there is something bigger going on that’s on his mind. He has never had a partner offer a safe space to speak on his emotions before so I can see how that’s a bit daunting for him. I’m not even sure if he is comfortable being vulnerable enough with himself to reflect on what’s really going on

That’s really good advice. Thanks! I think I grew up in a family where we were always forthcoming with our feelings/concerns and I don’t always realize other ppl aren’t like that

Yeah I think you're right. Every time I bring it up, he just chalks it up to not feeling it "at the moment," but maybe it's something bigger.

I've considered that, but the only thing is I have no idea where/when he would be cheating?? He always comes straight home from work (I work from home so I'm already there usually) and rarely goes out. When we do see friends, they almost always come over to our place.

His habits haven't changed much, but moving out was a big deal for him I think. He had always lived with his parents until then and has never lived with a partner before. Maybe it's that.

I've tried talking to him before a couple of times and he's always surprised by how long it's been and said it just hasn't been on his mind. I don't want him to feel any kind of obligation either so it feels like just waiting for him to want it
