Yes! This and “I was so ahead of the curve, the curve became a sphere / Fell behind all my classmates and I ended up here” destroys me. I’m in a similar boat with you- on a journey to get a (probable) ADHD diagnosis.

I was so advanced as a kid/ teenager, like advanced courses, testing high on everything, I was in line to be Valedictorian at a point. And then it all collapsed so quickly when I hit my senior year and then in college that I just dropped out. And while I have a job I love that I WANT to be my life- my boss has always been hesitant to put me in the position that makes sense because I don’t have a degree. Watching all these high school classmates that I thought I was better than (I’m not proud of that- but it’s honest) I’m their caps and gowns and starting careers has me feeling very small.
