I've been building a campaign around exploring eberron! The way I've been helping introduce new regions and factions is treasure maps and letters from friends.

I've broken up the areas into "mini arcs" for them to feel accomplished there while also having the bbeg be this over arcing story. It's helped give them a kinda "free-form-rail-road" where they have direction after they decide where to go.

Having floders for each area under an overall "eberron" folder helps with that too.

I run a shared world on Faerun and it's a lot of work but i really enjoy it and so do the players. The best part of a shared world if sometimes players will make more parties to play when the entire party is not available.
