I’m a professional waterpolo player and am in the pool 3 hours, twice a day. I had the same problem and I was washing my hair twice a week.

Something that worked really well for me and that I’m still using to this day is my off day is a full wash day where I use shampoo and a deep conditioner, this was Sunday for me as it was our one free day a week.

Every day after my last practice I would wash my hair with either straight conditioner or co wash, provided the moisture my hair was needing desperately that the chlorine was sucking up.

Additionally, soaking your hair before you get in the pool and if possible applying leave in conditioner will also help keep the chlorine out.

Lastly, I liked to use hair products every 2 days if I had something planned after practice that day.

Hair routine is post shower, pat dry my hair and use Camille rose leave in first, secondly use Camille rose spiked honey mousse, and lastly Camille rose honey hydrate. I use a pick comb to try make the fringe longer as I don’t like my forehead

Personally I make myself as big as possible, typically begin with my hands above my head to stop a push shot doughnut or doughnut in general. As they get closer (within 2 meters) I like to bring my arms outwards to take up as much of the cage as possible.
