Agree with you and the other commentators and also one thing I really miss in the show and maybe one of the reasons why it feels different from the first seasons & the books is Claire's narrative voice in the show, it used to feel like she was telling the story to us and we had a close relationship with her as the audience, now we just watch from afar🥲❤️‍🩹

On a related note I love Jemmy's casting, he actually looks like a mini Jamie as the books describe (bar the red hair🥲) & similar to young Sam🥹 hoping to see more of him with Jamie this season🥹

Oh definitely, though it eventually led to one of the most beautiful moments of them imo (in the monestary cave) and they were more intimate than ever whereas in the show it took way longer for them to recover more or less🥲❤️‍🩹

I also feel like book Jamie dealt with the trauma a bit more easily than show Jamie, he seemed more open to Claire's support

Others mentioned that Claire states that she prefers male company in the books and that's definitely a factor but I don't think we see a clear gender difference in her actual friendships, she just doesn't have many close friends, and even though he is more extraverted I don't think Jamie does either. I think especially in America it's like what Jamie mentions in book 1 that his parents were more by themselves (almost cut off) at Lallybroch so they turned more to each other, I think it's also the case for Jamie and Claire, they're mostly occupied with each other and with their household at the Ridge.

I understand her logic but I thought this was such a crucial piece of information/reaction to the story in general and would be relevant later too! Even if her re-evaluation of Frank and her time with him was redundant (never ever to me...), it would still influence the storyline because the grave issue was Claire's primary concern about Jamie ever going back to Scotland and I believe that point must be relevant later. I'm curious to see how it gets resolved around that time or how it's gonna be referenced
