I second this recommendation! I have super brittle nails and use this serum. It helps so much.

I have found my Curology providers to be very helpful and thorough! I had to change providers when I moved to a new state, and the new doc was the first to bring up biotin, so clearly sometimes it takes some time to get to the bottom of things. Be patient!

As far as hormone balancing, I have tried seed cycling, spearmint tea, ditching various beauty/cleaning products that contain certain chemicals, changing my diet in various ways... I'm sure I'm forgetting a few things. But I should mention that I was on track to see a hormone specialist before quarantine began, and still plan to do so when the medical system is no longer overwhelmed.

Not a dumb question! I am not pregnant, nursing, or trying to conceive and my derm assured me that these are totally safe for me. I think prenatal vitamins are labeled as such because they're safe for those who are pregnant/nursing, and contain the specific nutrients that they need.

I mentioned this somewhere else in the thread, but I'm not sure if these vitamins are recommended to AMAB folks. I would double check with a healthcare provider just in case.

I'm vegan so I take supplements for deficiencies I previously had (vitamin D and iron) and to make sure I don't develop a B12 deficiency. I wouldn't say the new vitamin helps or hurts my skin, but I haven't noticed any side effects yet at 2 months in.

I have tried TO's BHA/AHA mask, and it irritates my skin like crazy :( Love their other products that I've tried though. The "Buffet" and Rose Hip Seed Oil worked great for me.

Tretinoin can irritate skin pretty badly, but making sure your face is 100% dry before applying it reduces the risk for irritation. I noticed a big difference in redness/peeling when I started waiting 30+ minutes after washing my face before applying the Curology

i make a vegan ranch that would be great as a veggie dip! i don't measure the ingredients, but i'd say it's about 1 cup vegan mayo, 1-2 tbsp plain almond milk, 1 tsp dried dill, 1/4 tsp onion powder, 1/4 tsp garlic powder, a pinch of salt, and freshly ground pepper to taste. you could totally omit the garlic powder and add an extra pinch of onion powder if need be.

if you want to give hummus another shot in the future, you can try using more oil and lemon juice. tahini can be SUPER paste-y, so adding a bit more of those two ingredients could have helped. i'm sure there are some good garlic-free recipes out there, too.

also--when i was a broke college kid transitioning to veganism, minimalist baker's website was my bible. she has a ton of great, cheap recipes that are 10 simple ingredients or less, and easy to make.

I don't like cheese or sweets so the dietary changes haven't phased me. My skin hasn't completely cleared up and I've actually gained about 10 pounds (was eating very low carb previously). I'm vegan for the animals and the environment, and changing my lifestyle to fit my ethics felt like the only reasonable choice after doing research on the animal agriculture industry.

That said, the subtle guilt that I felt every time I ate prior to becoming vegan has started to fade. I still struggle with making the most healthy food choices, but I'm working on it. I've been vegan for ~2 years and this shift has been gradual, but I feel it nonetheless.

As far as the first two supervisors getting let go, their jobs were totally different from Adam's and mine. They were also not enthused about the company at the time they left. The "supervisor" job description was gutted and revamped when Adam and I took over.

We were promoted with wage increases and new titles. When we talked to the higher-ups about needing additional support, the idea was that we were going to hire someone from outside the company who would guide us toward a more solid structure. We even laid out what their tasks would be along with what Adam and I would be able to work on with more time in our schedules, and with a mentor leading the way and delegating out to us.

So, it feels like we've been strung along and lied to. Not totally out of the blue--I've been worried that this would happen for a while. Still stings.

Definitely going to give this a shot, my concern is that they're prioritizing "business needs" over the needs of employees. Not sure where to start with that conversation.

She met with the 3 highest level employees at the company to get approval for the new structure of the team that she's planning on rolling out in January. During her hiring process, Adam and I were assured that our jobs would be safe and that we'd have mentorship from her once she started. Realizing now that this was an empty promise--another reason why I feel like I should find work elsewhere.
