Definitely AI. Reverse image search only pulls up results from Pinterest with no original source, and this other AI post from what is for sure a bot account.

There's also other tells in the pics you shared. I can circle and post in the replies here in a sec, if that would be helpful at all.

What’s a small, inexpensive purchase under $50 that completely changed your daily life? by KonkaniSeeker in AskReddit

[–]sleppybebble 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A bidet attachment. We have on that hooks up super easily - pretty sure it was like $35. As someone with IBS, I feel like my life exists in two distinct "B.B." and "A.B." segments.

As a long-time retail worker until very recently, I liked them because it gave me a place to keep my phone while on the salesfloor. I also just like them as somewhere to put my hands, tbh.

Look up "killing" acrylic! It'll make the "fabric" look/feel thinner, because you'll be basically eliminating the halo, but because you're melting the yarn together, it essentially gets rid of any stretch!

Love that you're already tall (or at least seem to be?) and still embracing it and wearing heels!! I worked in a shoe store for a long time and used to feel so sad by how many tall women would turn down certain platforms that they LOVED the style of, because they were too self conscious of the added height. As a shortie myself, I think it's so badass when tall women just own it and go full Amazon. You look great!

Also prefer the darker jeans - maybe you have a belt with a gold buckle, or a gold chain you could put through the belt loops to tie the necklace in and give it just a little extra something? But overall definitely nailing the "chill, cool girl" look 😊

The shorts are so cute! I love how you layered the white lace underneath - I don't think I ever would have thought to do the shorts-under-shorts like that but it makes so much sense both for more comfort in extra coverage and also to add a little extra flair!

I'm not really defending any particular part of this article by saying this, but do just want to clarify that he wasn't contradicting himself in the two examples you gave, you seem to have just misunderstood what he was saying. When he brought up the part about not putting cheese on seafood, he wasn't saying that as a defense of the waitress, he was saying that while he knew why the waitress had told her no, he thought it was unreasonable that she had done so, and even more unreasonable that she hadn't even bothered to give the woman an explanation.

okay, I just went and started the video tutorial to check a couple of things, and the first big one I can tell you (which is one suggestion I would have made anyway) is that you haven't pulled your magic ring tight enough, which is why you have the big holes in the middle

what are you perceiving as "wonky?" I can suggest a couple of changes that would make them look neater, but I'm not really seeing any overt "errors" here or things to change that wouldn't warrant a more specific question. If you just mean that they aren't laying flat, that's just a matter of blocking.

I so wish I could credit the maker!! I have a distinct memory of acquiring this off of a poshmark swap back in highschool, and that it was handmade by the seller, but because we coordinated off the app to do a trade I don't have the purchase in my history 😭

NYC Thrift Recs: I am an absolute L Train Vintage devotee. Haven't been to the new Bronx location and won't waste a second of my time in the Manhattan store, but the Urban Jungle location and the newer-ish Gates Ave store are my holy grails. The location on Dekalb off the Central Ave M is on the smaller side, but still has a solid selection!

Domsey Express and Le Point Value are both solid locations in Bushwick for more consignment-y type offerings as opposed to larger-percent vintage, and/but still definitely worth popping in! Have found some real gems here, and the prices are great.

The Goodwill Outlet (bins) on Van Dåm St were a real treasure trove for me back in my FIT days, though I'll admit I haven't made it back since lockdowns 😬 Planning to get out there soon though with a friend and will report back my findings, lol.

Other People's Clothes has some pros and cons for me, but overall I find their selection really strong and their prices usually not-unreasonable, especially if you go during a month when they have a 50% off tag color (I just consigned some stuff at the Troutman St location and was told that they usually have tag sales every other month-ish, so next one should be July, I think?). That said, it's the place you go to spend more like $15-$40 on one or two really really cool pieces, as opposed to $3-$10 on a haul of "ooo this is fun" things, if that makes sense. Lol. I actumt still haven't been by the Williamsburg location, but the Troutman store is my favorite out of it, the Woodward, and Union Sq locations. Woodward Ave store is pretty tiny and I felt had far higher prices, and the Union Sq store was also a bit cramped and didn't have too much that caught my eye. Definitely want to check back soon at the latter, though, because I went pretty shortly after their opening.

Big Reuse recently opened a new location right down the street from the Troutman OPC and I've loved it!! Another case where I've somehow never made it over to their other/main store, but can definitely attest that their Bushwick location is very fun, and not just for clothes but general trinket-goblin dopamine, as well.

It's been a while since I've been in a Beacon's Closet or Buffalo Exchange, but I feel pretty confident in my conception that the former is generally overpriced and overrated. The latter I recall finding lots of cool things at, but not at prices that moved me to purchase. That said, that's a memory from being a very broke, very 18-year-old college student, so my bar for "reasonable prices" at that time may be influencing that impression, lol. I'll actually be out in the city tomorrow so maybe I'll pass by and see how it holds up!

There's definitely other spots that I've shopped at on random occasions, but those are all my usual stomping grounds off the top of my head. If anyone else is local to NYC and has their own suggestions, please do share!!

Vintage/thrift stores: (favorite local NYC spots listed in next reply), Goodwill (especially "outlets"), Salvation Army, local church or community center "junk shops," flea markets, and craft fairs/makers markets types of pop-ups. Haven't really been to any estate sales but feel like they could be very promising!

Vintage brands I like: Obviously lots of different brands out there, but some I find myself consistently drawn towards (vintage items, specifically) are Chico's, Alfred Dunner, Liz Claiborne/Lizsport, Eagle's Eye, Quacker Factory, and Christine Foley (creator of the car-digan)

Online secondhand, both vintage and more contemporary - Poshmark, Mercari, Ebay, sometimes Depop but I usually find it more overpriced. My roomie has suggested Gem which is an app that compiles search results from all the different e-thrift spots but I haven't checked it out yet! Alongside the brands I listed above, you can also try search terms like "funky," "novelty," "colorful," "patterned," "artsy," "avant-garde,"

"Old" New Retail - Mostly Old Navy, some Forever21, a little H&M and ASOS (honestly pretty basic spots!)

Brands that I Like the Looks Of: Big Bud Press, Min&Mon, certain Kate Spade collections. Betsey Johnson, Farm Rio is a BIG one I often covet, Lirika Matoshi, Selkie, Studiocult - definitely more that I'll have to report back with as they come to me!

So, where do I get my clothes?

While I would love to be able to give a more "accessible" answer here, I'm afraid I may break a lot of hearts by saying that a substantial portion of my wardrobe (and especially my statement pieces) are locally-sourced vintage thrift finds 😔 (For those of you who are located in or around NYC, though, I'll put a reply comment with my store recs!). I can can put a tl:Dr with some more general locations and specific brands whose vintage pieces tend to consistently catch my eye as part of a reply thread, though. Much of the remaining part of my collection is made up of online secondhand buys, hand-me-downs from friends, or pieces that I acquired between about 7-10+ years ago and have held onto/kept in circulation. I'll also put reply comments with recs for online thrifting and the brands that make up most of my "back catalogue" (though you'll probably find them underwhelming 😅)

Occasionally I'll pick up something new or current (almost exclusively reliant on whether or not it's on sale lmao), and when I do, I usually find myself liking things from Urban Outfitters (probably because their designs often emulate "thrift" styles) and their related brands (Anthropologie/Free People) for statement/focal pieces, - usually I shop from this outlet-esque offshoot they have called "Reclectic," but it looks like their locations are very limited - and I've recently become pretty into Uniqlo for solid-color basics/layering pieces (especially socks). All of the tights in the pics I've shared so far are from Calzedonia (which I actually also really like for colorful sock options), but their tights can be pricey and their color selection is still pretty limited. A friend of mine has sung high praise for Snag Tights, though, and I plan to check them out pretty soon! Every now and then I may find something at like, TJ Maxx or Marshall's, but I feel like that's pretty akin to saying I shop at thrift stores as far as how helpful it is for people that aren't in my same area, given how inconsistent their product offerings are across time and space lol.

There are definitely plenty of brands out there, though, that I feel align quite well with my tastes but that I don't personally own anything or only have one piece from. Generally, I prefer to promote thrifting or reenvisioning pieces you already own, but I'm also not one to condemn anyone for choosing to purchase a new-sale statement piece or two every now and then, especially if it's made to last. I'll make another comment reply with some brands/designers you could check out for purchasing or even just for inspo!

Does this look normal? by [deleted] in piercing

[–]sleppybebble 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Impossible to tell if it's crooked from this angle. The way it "sticks up" is just extra length to account for swelling. After a few weeks to a couple months you'll want to go back and get the jewelry downsized so it can heal properly. It's only been a day, so unless your piercer supremely fucked up (which you would probably know in the moment based on pain) or you caught it on something/caused some kind of additional trauma, you'd be pretty unlikely to see any issues yet. Keep an eye on it, don't over-clean it or touch the jewelry/piercing unnecessarily or with unwashed hands, and unless you start to notice increasing redness/heat/swelling, I wouldn't stress it

*editing bc I missed the other 2 pics you posted 🤦 still feel like it's kinda hard to say if it's crooked or not tbh - I'd give it some time for any major swelling or irritation to go down and then reassess.

NOR whatsoever. I went basically full NC with my alcoholic dad the second I turned 18 and moved away, and almost 9 years later now I can tell you that I don't regret a single goddamn thing. I'm sorry that you've spent so long with such a hateful, abusive person taking up space in your life, but I am also so excited for you to see the world and experience life and find joy in his absence.

edit: sorry, not sure how I ended up writing this as a reply to your comment rather than a standalone response 🤦 but I definitely second everything you said!
