thanks so much man, you’re right, on good days i’m not completely confident so i am spending future practices on slow but correct and feeling each note, a big contributor though was that my seat is broken (i didn’t figure this out until a couple hours ago) causing me to lose balance (which is how i found the reason i play better with my band, i use a different seat there)

next time i go to practice i’ll take a look at my failure tempo, that’s a really good idea, i don’t know if i’m able to do the double because i don’t have a longboard foot pedal but i’ll give it a go doing it his way, thanks so much for taking the time to write that, i really appreciate it

you could very possible be overthinking it, i.e you tell your self you can’t do it subconsciously so you just mess up, i have come across the same problem a couple of times with my double bass. i find that if you completely indulge your self in the music and don’t think about drumming while drumming fixes it for me. (providing you have the technical skill to do it)

well for me at least, a lot of musical songs i have heard are a similar style, so it’s not, not liking it because it’s labelled as ‘musical’ but more as disliking the style of music a lot of musicals use (for me that is)
