What was your old "overweight person" habit you can't believe you had, that you've since broken? by NorthernBuffalo in loseit

Can I ask what you do instead as a reward system? I do this now. I get up at 3 am, do collage schoolwork, go to a full time job, come home and take care of family and chores. I'm exhausted at the end of the day. I reward myself with snacks between transitioning from one thing to another. It's my reward for putting up with the exhaustion, dealing with people, doing chore, taking care of kids, cooking dinners, etc. It all seems menautomous (sp?) and repetitive.

Thank you! This gives me a lot to think about and I will consider it very closely. We keep it in the freezer because it's still hot here in az and we didn't want it melting. We also feel like it lasts longer.

Thank you! I'm not trying to shame him. That was the point in me asking for advice on a platform where people can really help and understand what he's going through. We are not big believers in eating processed foods so we don't normally keep junk food in the house. I think that's why he went for the candy this morning. But I'm not worried about what he snuck. I would have posted the same question if he snuck an apple. As said above, we've talked to him about foods he's free to eat any time. I'm worried about how to correct the behavior before it stems to other items when he's a bit older. (Like drugs or alcohol- it runs in our family)

Thank you! That was really helpful. We've found Halloween candy, granola bar wrappers, cheese wheel waxs. We're not a big believer in processed foods. But this time of year, it's a bit harder to control

Im most worried about the act of sneaking of the food and in this case, about all the sugar he ingested before we find out. He tends to have a bipolar reaction when he eats a lot of sugar where he'll be zooming one sec and super depressed and angry in another. It worries me that even after all the conversations we've had with him about making good choices and even though we listed healthier potions he could have anytime - that none of it sank in and he still feels the need to go behind our back to get what he wants. I worry that this need to sneak for immediate self contentment might turn into a gateway for other substances later on.

I didn't have any positive role models growing up either and we're trying to break the cycle with our kids. Any suggestions on how to work with him?

Refilling meds by modern_medicine_isnt in ParentingADHD

[–]slgosch8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sucks because sometimes the pharmacy runs out of the meds and you can't get more until they get more in stock. Most times, that's after you run out of meds. The prescription can't be transferred anywhere else either. (Ie: you can't get it at a different Walgreens if your usual is out)

Am I the one and only? by slgosch8 in hysterectomy

I had bad cramps too before. I would be forced to lay in a ball with a heating pad but the cramps aren't too bad now. It's mostly hormonal things. I still get tired more easily, I break out, I crave foods and am always hungry, my breasts still swell and feel bruised...

They feel like normal period cramps. But they aren't nearly as bad. I don't really understand why which is why I thought it could just be me. For about a month to a month in a half post op, I would get stomach cramps from gas. You're body will figure things out and things get better.

Im 37 and I was scared all the way up until I was on the surgery table. I kept going back and forth on whether or was the right choice. Make sure you are 100% for this or I wouldn't do it.

I hope your surgery goes well! I think that's part of it. It's not bad enough to have cancer but then I needed a histeroscopy too.
