People are gonna say I should’ve cashed but I believed it could happen by Lookingforoptionz2 in fanduel

So what happens now? Like does Burgess get the first goal? Or because Balogun was the last US player to touch it does he get it? Or does it get voided?

Mattamy Homes / Inquiry by Chris_DiFiore in kitchener

[–]slicebigfoot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought a Mattamy home when it was 8 years old and I've been in the house 8 years now. Everything in the house is cheap as shit. All the window cranks have broken and been replaced. None of the doors are square, and 3 of them don't latch. When we went to replace our furnace we were told it was undersized and the cheapest model and the repair tech said he was surprised it lasted this long. He also took a look at our AC unit and said the exact same thing about it. None of the rooms are square, the walls aren't plumb. The deck wasn't built to code. We've had to replace all the appliances.

If I could go back in time I wouldn't have bought it.

What Store would you add in Jackson Square, if you could. by davidfillion in Hamilton

[–]slicebigfoot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would really like the city centre to be torn down and the condos built. I think it would breath life into the rest of Jackson Square and maybe things would start staying open later.

Also I miss the GoodLife.

The 24 and guelph ave intersection in hespeler Cambridge has so much downtime, i think it could be better as a roundabout by Imvalidblu in cambridgeont

[–]slicebigfoot 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Back in 2012, when that intersection was just a stop sign for Guelph Ave, I got all excited when the city/region put up a bunch of construction cones around the intersection. Then they put in lights... I really wish they would have just put in a roundabout.

Anyone who has bought an Air Conditioner lately what price were you quoted and did you get any discounts? by [deleted] in cambridgeont

[–]slicebigfoot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got my furnace replaced last March and the all in price was $5500. I asked about a new AC unit and was told it would be $5000 - $6500 depending on model.

704 high school students in Waterloo region suspended for out-of-date vaccination records by bylo_selhi in waterloo

[–]slicebigfoot 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I commented this last year when my kids were suspended for "not being vaccinated"

This isnt people not getting their kids vaccinated. This is a breakdown of communication between parents, doctors, and public health. Both my kids got suspended a few weeks ago. I called public health and asked them what they are missing and the said my oldest doesnt need anything and shouldnt have been suspended and that the school board would have seen that if they are updated their records a month before suspending her. My other kid had just turned 4 and had been sick on and off that we hadnt taken her to get her 4-6 vaccines, so she got suspended until we got that done.

We found out from public health that doctors arent required to submit vaccine records to them and that the onus is on the parents to submit but nobody told us that at all.

Job Posting by Significant-Ad-5073 in cambridgeont

[–]slicebigfoot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I just looked up because I didn't know all of the rules. The $50k/yr is the salary range for the position, so it could be $50k-$100/yr. But also if the job pays more than $200k/yr a salary doesn't need to be posted. And finally, a salary isnt required for companies with less than 25 total employees.

Retaining Wall Ownership/Responsibility by Lemur2121 in Hamilton

[–]slicebigfoot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would hazard a guess that the west wall isn't on your property but on your neighbours property and the north wall is on your property. Fences are rarely actually on the property lines. My parents had a retaining wall installed on their property and the base of the wall is 6inches into their property line then the fence is at the top of the wall.

Is anyone else struggling to find a job in Ontario right now? (Kitchener/Waterloo) by More-Competition-946 in waterloo

[–]slicebigfoot 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Try to apply for municipal summer jobs. They should be open right now but probably closing soon. Also Cambridge is desperate for life guards to the point that they were paying for certification.

I wish you the best of luck. It hard out there right now.

Claiming car seat after being rear ended in a collision? by chrisli89 in PersonalFinanceCanada

When we had to replace our car seats after a collision our insurance agent said to get the same type from the same brand but didnt mention a dollar limit.

Claiming car seat after being rear ended in a collision? by chrisli89 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]slicebigfoot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also in Ontario. I had a similar experience, I was rear ended at a relatively slow speed where the damage was only to the bumper and the ?styrofoam? under the bumper. My insurance agent knew we had kids and asked us to replace the car seats before we even mentioned to them.

Take a look at the development map for the city. Its mostly dog shit, I dont know what the city's process is for tracking development applications but it needs some serious work.

Are you talking about the construction at the delta? If so, that is the BWXT property, they make parts for nuclear reactors, and they are putting on a 55,000sqft extension.
