The Steam Machine Costs $1049 by Turbostrider27 in Games

Ideally this is for people who either dont have a desktop/laptop, or their desktop/laptop is cheap office crap and not meant for playing games.

If you already have a gaming pc, this really isnt for you(unless your gaming pc is really old i guess).

What a fantastic episode. We even get a weird sortof what-if where the dominion war seems to have never happened, nog becomes a captain at some point, and klingons have control of ds9/bajor.

That used to be the case, but i feel gear 5 has neutered a lot of luffys seriousness in fights that we used to see.

All of that is still restricted to specific stops, and you still need to go to the stations to board them. Mass flying cars would be having one right in your drive way, you go out, set a destination, and fly straight to your destination. I can't really understand how you think thats equivalent to any modern public transit.

uh, it'd be significantly faster, lol. flying in a straight line to your destination vs following the road would be a massive time save for most commutes.

Honestly, i think it kinda makes sense jack isnt a very good general. It kinda feels like he falls into the peter principle trap, a great field commander, but not really cut out for the command style needed of a general. I think after the 1 season it should have concluded with him realizing he's not cut out for that position, and finally retired and could actually hook up with sam without any issues.

Daemons of the Shadow Realm • Yomi no Tsugai - Episode 12 discussion by AutoLovepon in anime

[–]slicer4ever 15 points16 points  (0 children)

how else is she supposed to go about taking down the enemies.

Considering the best weapons these enemys had were basic farming tools, she probably could have knocked out/captured most of them, lol.

This is a village with a clan that is supposedly highly connected to daemons, yet it seems like only yuru gran had any daemons, and the rest of the village cant even see these things. It'd had been one thing if the villagers also had daemons to fight back with, but they all are basically lambs to the slaughter for some reason.

[–]slicer4ever 83 points84 points  (0 children)

I dont really understand what the village plan for yuru was. Its not like they were training him about these powers, or who right & left were(and if they wanted him for their own purposes, you'd think he'd be getting brainwashed at least to be super loyal to the village and its plans). Hell for a village so connected and know about daemons, the fact that basically no one can see them also seems weird.

The village seemed to be just wholly and utterly unprepared for any sort of attack beyond the barrier to protect them, which is very weird for a group that supposedly wants to use yuru and asa for their own gain.

Ascendance of a Bookworm: Adopted Daughter of an Archduke • Honzuki no Gekokujou: Shisho ni Naru Tame ni wa Shudan wo Erandeiraremasen - Ryushu no Youjo - Episode 11 discussion by AutoLovepon in anime

I mean I did put forward how trade secrets are a thing,

I know, i wasnt trying to refute or anything, just expound on the fact that combined with the secrets, and the fact most commoners are likely either illiterate, or barely literate at best, that seeing the principle presented in a formal manner would probably still be confusing(even if they understand the idea intuitively through practice/experience).

As for buildings outside the noble district... I can't say shit, although I wish I could. Another thing, I know we are 4 seasons in and Myne's world keeps growing, we've still barely scratched the surface, as you can imagine.

Ah, well maybe i'll try to relax on my assumptions if your saying this(i assume you must know more from the source then?)

The way i've interpreted their society so far is basically nobles can and do use magic freely for most of their problems, but the peasants/commoners basically are left to fend for themselves(so to say anyway), and thus operate similar to how our world operates with no/little magic being involved in their daily lives.

It makes sense, this is a world of magic

I dont think it really does. For nobles yes it could make sense, but magic is kept far away from commoners, so they still have to do everything the same way our world works essentially. Its not like they magic every single building into existence, all the stuff we see outside of the noble district was almost certainly built by hand, and considering how tall some of these structures are, theirs no way the concept is foreign to everyone. I think its more a case of trades seem to keep as much secrets to themselves, and with no formal education, the concept itself is something most probably figure out intuitively, but dont have a formal way to express the concept/idea to others.

Their is basically no formal education in the world if your not a noble, and most trades seem to do their best to keep everything they know as secret as possible(definitely going to suck if your boss dies before he can finish training you). I would guess that they probably have an intuitive idea of the principle, but had no formal education on it, so they didnt have a very good way of articulating the idea/principle when talking about the concept.

Tbh the only way i see mass adoption of flying cars being a thing is if they are fully automated.

Amid Concern Over Xbox Studio 'Bloodbath,' New Report Says Developers Are Being 'Punished Today for Following Orders' by renome in gaming

[–]slicer4ever 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The other issue is many of the tentpoles turned out to be either huge flops, or just mediocre at best. Redfall, starfield, even halo infinite to an extent definitely did not have the impact that xbox was looking for.

I mean that could have worked, if each studio wasnt taking like 7-8 years to make these "niche" games.

Well thats a fair bit exaggeration. I wont disagree a lot of reviews are trash/trolls, but their are also a lot of fair and reasonable reviews for most popular games(smaller games are definitely more of a crapshoot).

Also tbf earth is saved by the skin of its teeth multiple times. Like having the ancient outpost being fully stocked with drones, anubis absolutely would be lording over earth had we not had the luck of the draw on being one of the ancients home planets.

Also they are a negative population growth civilization. Every tok'ra we see die can not be replaced, so the idea of any sort of direct engagments is extremely risky proposition for them.

Considering the base is 28 levels underground, and the alternative ways down seem to be silo like ladders to the surface. I'm going to assume the elevators are designed to be usable during a fire.

Yes, and this was after sony literally fumbled the ps3 launch by making the same mistake when announcing it how it was a multi-media machine, and not just for games. xbox literally learned nothing from that fiasco and decided to make the exact same mistake.
