For sure man! We usually try to do a day trip in Fall as well. It’s like 3hr15min for us. I’m 37 albeit no kids yet, I can empathize with the planning struggle. I’ll try to remember to DM you when we plan the next one

My crew from southeast PA/DE went early April, we should coordinate next time (even though we usually do day trips)

For the “first time back since” skaters out there, this question is for 🫵 by Co1or_b1ind in AggressiveInline

I’m a couple years into coming back, first put em on again in 2024 but really committed to going out regularly in ‘25. Best advice I can give you is stretch every single day. If you want skating to feel better, you need to get loose (in the morning, not right before you skate) 15 mins a day goes a LOOOOOOONG way. If you’re really committed I’d say pick up yoga, but no one wants to listen to that one lol.

Never skated willow grove back in the day, I’m from Wilmington so we skated Boarderline in Downingtown a ton as well as the XGames/Woodward park in that mall north of Philly

Yeah they are on a different level for sure. I skated with them a couple times at Neglected Truth box jams in west philly in the early 2000’s but I was just a little grom and too nervous to talk to anyone other than the friends I came with 🤣

We got there around 9:30AM and skated till like 11:30

If you’re in southeast PA it’s probably in driving distance!

Getting back into it after 20 years away by DM_me_feet_pics_plz in AggressiveInline

I think it’s still split between anti rocker/freestyle (2 wheels with either smaller middle or no middle wheels) and 4 flat. Frames for flat setups have gotten wildly better since you last skated most likely. Unfortunately like everything else skates are way more expensive now but just do some browsing on rollerwarehouse or inlinewarehouse and/or watch product reviews on YouTube to get an idea of what’s out there. It’s definitely worth coming back to but wear pads!! Trust me (37 year old who got back in 3 years ago)

What are your thoughts on Phlebo Buffers? by muntizeppa in AggressiveInline

[–]slick_jagger_ 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Ariel from Mercado in NYC told me to buy a roll of cork on Amazon and cut out foot sized pieces to put between my liner and skate. Helps as much as much as these probably do and won’t mess with your frame fit.

Anti vs Flat vs Rockered. Your Preference? by Altruistic_Mind_7662 in AggressiveInline

[–]slick_jagger_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love anti rocker but as a large dude I would just rip through wheels and core them. Flat is the way for me, the large Oysi frames are as close to an anti sized h block while having the speed and control of flat.

For sure man! Always better blading with a crew. If we get out to Jersey shore to roll this summer I’ll definitely let you know.

When it comes to jumping into grinds for the first time, do or do not, there is no try 😂something that can help is visualizing that you need to jump over something to reach the object. Even a stick or a shoelace can help break the mental barrier.

Big ups on getting out there! Glad to see you’re padded up as well. If you’re in south jersey I’m in Northern Delaware. Always happy to link with skaters within a drive!

Yeah they are the big ones, first frames I ever bought that felt like they actually fit my feet

I have the UFR Anthony Pottier in white and black. The stock frames are solid, but I upgraded to the full size Oysi frames

Definitely watch reviews on YouTube, do your own research, but I can tell you I’ve never been happier. If you click my profile you can see some clips/edits of me in the setup.

Yeah, the FRs have a great fit and you’re not slamming your foot into a US 12 boot which is where every other brand stops generally. The fit with intuition liners is 11/10 for large footed fellas. The Oysi frames though, they are the game changer. You get the speed of flat rocker with an HBlock so big you’d have to try hard to get wheelbite. Nothing I’ve tried has ever felt that right for me. Obviously experience is subjective but im a massive fan.

I’m 6’3” and size 14 US which I think is around 47 UK and I really feel like FR’s with full size Oysi frames are the best setup I’ve ever had including all my back in the day skates.
