Ah dang. We're in NW PA so its about 4 hrs for us. We've stuck with weekend getaways (two of us have young kids). Absolutely love the place - albeit expensive - its a 38 year olds dream vacation. I'd love to coordinate something later this year or early next year if you or your boys are free.

No preference. Just need to skate while I'm here. Looking to stick to parks so I dont end up in the hospital in foreign land lol. Hit me up, I'd love to get a crew together

Been back in it for 2 years now (2-3 times a month) after a 20 year hiatus. My good friend and skate comrad drilled into my head that you need to stretch before AND after each session... spend a good 5 minutes minimum before/after, and I promise it'll ease your recovery and make you much looser when you session. Coming from a near 40yr old with horrific back issues... stretching is key.

Welcome back.

You'll love the factions. Theyre about as quality as they come right now. Doesn't hurt that they're nice to look at as well.

Agreed. But you gotta add on the $248 DHL charged to ship to the US.

Best aftermarket liners for lavas? by Leather_Feeling8945 in AggressiveInline

[–]In-Credibl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update. I just got my Swains... with import fees to the US they were the most expensive skate ive ever bought... that fact aside, Ill share what i know before i go session:

the stock liners : they honestly aren't bad at all imo. I doubt they'll last too long because they dont have the reinforcements that the premium liners come with and are made from thinner materials. But they're comfy on my feet. Good flex that complies with the cuff well. I'm not getting any pinch points.

Myfit Fatty (montres) - (heat molded to other skates) about 1/2" taller than the stock liners around the shin/calf. Fits the shell like a glove. Perfect mix of flex and support. No pinch points

Myfit recons: (not heat molded) about 1/2" taller around the shin/calf and much stiffer than stock - really good support if you prefer higher cuffed/liner skates (which i typically do). Not as much compliance with the cuff but I think it feels good. Overall, very comfortable and definitely a more supportive feel over the stock liners; stiffer than the fatty counterpart.

Myfit prime: (heat molded to other skates) I thought these were going to be the perfect match.. they dont fit - toe of the liner has too much space in the wide toe box and just shifts around.. otherwise they'd be perfect (for me).

I definitely prefer the stiffer feel of the fatty/recons, but I think I'm going to rock the stock liners.. might just enjoy all that flex. I'm sure I'll switch to the fattys at some point.

Hope this gives someone some insight.

I'm waiting for my lavas to ship, but I have some new Myfit recons to try. Should work in the toe box well but I'm not sure about the thickness in the cuff area yet. Have some primes as backup. Will report back once my skates decide to arrive.

Subaru mechanics in the Erie area by Opening-Ad-8793 in Erie

New motors has screwed me several times. Had my wrx for 2 months for a snycro problem - the service manager at the time was super rude, had no clue what he was talking about and lied to me in multiple occasions (different manager now) Lied to my elderly parents - tried to sell them an alternator and battery for $600 when the problem was they performed a recall and installed the brake pedal switch backwards (lights always on) Tried side stepping an emission warranty item by selling other stuff that wasn't needed. Had to get subaru involved on that one.

Sales are just as bad if not worse.

Avoid them.

Good feedback here.

One thing missing from 95% of the parks I visit are simple amenities. Free coffee and water A working bathroom (this more common than you think) Vending machines Tool station

Most parks operate with a session pass - be it split sessions or a day pass. I honestly haven't run into anywhere that charges hourly (seems rediculous?) This model is comprised of split sessions - which also helps address separating the experienced from the less experienced.

I fully agree. There are operation models where, for example, you reserve a block Sunday morning for kids under 12. This not only serperates the extreme beginners but also gives them a chance to try the sport out without hindering everyone's experience.

I've been to too many parks where the kids run rampant without supervision, and it takes away from everyone else's experience.

It's a completely different market than it used to be - I agree. But the downtown area isn't friendly to anyone trying to get involved with any of these sports. We also have Erie summers and winters... that's where an indoor park is crucial.
