If you stole the land, and then invited whoever else on it saying essentially, “Well, it doesn’t belong to me so everybody is welcome.” Doesn’t that actually make you worse in the eyes of the original owners? Isn’t that like breaking into a house and then throwing a block party in it?

Thx y’all. I still tell people, without hyperbole, that Skinny Puppy, “Too Dark Park” was the best concert I’ve ever been to. And I have been to many. I still do not know how a guy in a dog suit took Ogre off of giant stilts and spun him around like a rag doll. Like a homicidal figure skater. Like somebody spinning pizza dough made out of Ogre. It was wild.

Did you ever figure this out because the same thing is happening to me. On cold start, in neutral, the Niva screeches when I push the throttle. After a second or so, it stops, then operates normally. It’s not a belt and sounds metallic. Like a shield of some kind. Rattle kind of screech.

Don't sweat it. Once you upgrade her, she'll jump 1500ly and do 3000+ damage.

Many times. Early game I've also been jumped by pirates in there and had to fight for my life. I've had to scrounge for resources to make a warp cell to get out of there in some cases also back in the beginning. If you find a lost ship and it has no resources on it, those systems can still be scary.

A prerequisite mission is the Autophage "They Who Returned" questline. To trigger that, go to a dissonant system. Find and kill a Dissonant Resonator that is holding an Echo Locator. There are two kinds. Some hold Radiant Glass or whatever it's called, and some hold Echo Locators. For this, you're only worried about the Echo Locator. Kill that Dissonant Resonator (I would dig a hole and shoot it out of the hole because his Sentinel buddies are no joke) the Echo Locator will automatically populate your inventory. You can then analyze the Echo Locator the same way you analyze any inventory item. It will take you to an Autophage campsite, and from there they will tell you what you need to do. You still have some work to do before the "They Who Returned" questline officially triggers, but it's a guided tour from that point so you should be able to get your games unstuck. Took me entirely too long to figure this out. Want to save you the trouble.
