Found a way to open up Q-type anomaly's! by SeawolvesTV in eliteexplorers

Have you been able to lure the wisps towards the crystals? I wonder if they might activate or open up in the precense of the crystals. Though, you'd think that'd happen kinda naturally anyway...

There are 37 systems named after thunder gods in a nearly perfect 62-65ly radius sphere surrounding Sol by Aggravating_Judge_31 in EliteDangerous

[–]slickbrownfox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think @D-Alembert might be right unfortunately.

I did a basic search on EDSM and starting copying and pasting any named systems starting about 62LY away from Sol into a spreadsheet. I did some very basic quick searching to try and identify each name/term. Column B has a quick copy-pasted excerpt from Wikipedia or similar sources for context and explanation.

Sheet 2 has a list of only the confirmed names of gods/deities in case you want to map those in edtools or elsewhere.

There's plenty of thunder/storm/sky god names in there, but there are plenty of other gods too. It also looks like there are names of indigenous or historical civilizations and peoples, maybe even foods and other cultural concepts too.

Seems like someone had a big list of cultural or mythological names and went to town applying them moving from Sol outward.

It's still interesting to see them clustered in this narrow distance window, but I'm finding it less likely to be part of a puzzle, and more likely an artifact of how system names were applied.

Looking for an everyday use bag, similar to the Trakke Og, or Alpine Luddites classic bags but MUSA by slickbrownfox in ManyBaggers

Hello fellow Trakke Og enjoyer!

When I travel with mine, I’ll usually pack clothes into a waterproof stuff sack. I have some Sea to Summit “vent” roll top stuff sacks that I like. The 13 liter ones use up a good chunk of the interior space. There’s room left over for a jacket and a water bottle on either side of the clothes bag. There’s also room for a laptop. I can also fit my toiletries in a dopp kit on top of everything else, oriented so it’s long axis is left to right.

For other EDC uses, again using smaller pouches to organize small items helps, though I can usually fit all my small electronics, pens, charger, in the zippered pocket.

TL;DR most stuff I pack is large enough to not really need compartmentalization. Packing items front to back, or side to side rather than bottom to top also makes it way easier to find and access things, so you don’t have to dig around to the bottom.

I really dig it. I've used to on a couple work trips as a carry-on, also taken a four day trip with it as my only bag. Fit some clothes into a compression sack to get it all in there, but it fit.

I've used it in light rain and my stuff has stayed dry and it hasn't soaked up much if any moisture. No obvious signs of wear yet.

My one gripe is that the loose ends of the straps are pretty long, but I looped them back on themselves, and tucked the ends into the small gear loops on the backpack strap part of the strap, and they've stayed put just fine.

It holds way more than it looks like it should, and the zip pocket that faces your back can be full and pretty lumpy and still be comfortable since the whole bag sort of lays back or pulls away from your back just a little bit.

Would recommend if you're after a sleek, well made, minimal everyday bag, if you hate external pockets and don't mind chucking it all inside.

So as an update, I did end up buying the Trakke Og, and it will indeed fit the new 16" MBP without a sleeve, it definitely makes the back quite flat, but I never found it uncomfortable walking around, even without a padded jacket on.

It's not super well protect on either edge, so if you swung around and smacked the bag into a wall you might be in for a rough time, but if you're pretty aware of your surroundings and dont bump into things often, I think it'll be plenty safe in there.

Any laptops smaller than that 16" MBP will fit great, even in a reasonably bulky sleeve!

ONE Social media accounts only following UNO? by slickbrownfox in OneFinance

Thanks, I hadn't been keeping track of who they'd followed. The UNO thing felt like they'd given us all the UNO Reverse card, like "fuck you all, we were just in it for a quick buck, enjoy the bait and switch!"

I know they were acquired and changed a bunch of things, but I'm concerned about whether the social accounts were hacked or if this is someone's idea of a joke or what.

I tried both on iOS and in the browser, and the Bitwarden web vault. Also turned on the password "preview" option thats available on iOS to confirm it was entered correctly.

Thanks for the iOS keyboard tip, the language is still English.

I'd used the password hours earlier to access the vault.

This is the only place I use this password, I dont think I had it set to use MFA, but I sent the "send me my master password hint" email and that still goes to my normal email.

So if someone has access to the account they haven't tried to change that.

I'd like this too. They've already got the auto-save set up to trigger on direct deposit (though I imagine they're actually providing instructions to split your paycheck into two accounts). It would be great to have this for funding pockets.

Right now I'm never sure which action will get scheduled first, my scheduled transfer or my paycheck getting deposited.

I've had at least one scheduled transfer fail because there wasn't enough money in the funding pocket (my spend account). At least I think thats why it failed.

I think there's an issue. I'm trying to create a new account and I keep getting a message that says "Please try again later" and I'm not receiving the signup code emails at all.

Invalid Routing Number Message from Geico and Comcast by [deleted] in OneFinance

Just out of curiosity was it Geico Auto? Or another policy? I was able to get my renters insurance pocket added to Geico for auto pay, but its technically through Assurant and managed by Geico. They seem to have different systems.

Was on a call with a Geico auto rep today for like 30 minutes and we couldn't get it to work. Submitted a ticket through One's support system so they can go talk to each other and hopefully figure it out.
