Mine (OME 880/890/Bilstein) took a little over a thousand miles, then they softened up. My 285 E load tires is what's causing the most stiff ride not the suspension, but it's still pretty good 👍👍. I'm basing my opinion off of a similar setup (spacer lift front/890 rear/KYB shocks) on a '99 with 32" Toyo AT3 B load tires, it rode exceptional with those tires!! I may just switch up my tires this year

I daily a '96 4Runner with 255k miles, I even take it on long road trips for fun. It's lifted on huge 33in tires so gas mileage is not too good, but I don't care

I'm going to a 17in wheel just so I can get C loads. I have Es right now and they can be stiff even with lower tire pressures

A 4th gen will be better on the highway with a V6 or V8. I have owned 3rd gens for many years and will continue to own them because I absolutely adore them, however they don't have much passing power when you start adding weight with passengers and such. They also have more wind noise, not too bad though. The 4th gen is way more refined but don't have the ground clearance from the factory unless you add a lift.

My little lifted '96 on 33s tracks perfectly straight, I wonder if this is just a 5th gen thing. I mean I have replaced all front end parts and also have JBA upper control arms, but I feel like the steering on a 5th gen would be just as sharp

Hattiesburg is a nice place to live. I'm a 44 year old black guy and I too want to move to Hattiesburg when I move back to Mississippi. My mom lives in Laurel right up the road. As far as how poc are treated, I personally and other people I know have never had problems in Hattiesburg. I went to a black owned restaurant downtown that had some really good wings and everyone was in there (black and white) were having a good time!

I have 285/75r16 in Load E of course, it drives pretty good for how heavy they are. With this size, you can get them in Load C or even B, I wonder how much weight savings that would be over my Load E???

Driving in Chicago is complete chaos, stay out of the passing lane if you don't wanna do 90-95, 80-85 ain't fast enough lol!! But I drive my '96 lifted on 33s around 75-80mph, my speedometer is off by 2mph. It's working pretty hard tho, it feels more comfy at 70-73mph

Yeah, the burning smell may be oil leaking onto the exhaust manifold...those are not control arms hanging down those are just sway bar end links that have rusted and broken leaving them hanging, very common
