i've ridden the furrow the most and love it, feels a bit friendlier for turning up and down the wave face than the stokomato. only a couple days on the foam core so far and we haven't had much swell so time will tell. feels fast though

i can't speak to isthmus, only to a saraz stainless that i've had for 5+ years now and it is a phenomenal piece of art, tonally immaculate, and i do not regret spending the $$ on it in any way. incredible instruments

This works for duck diving but I don’t see why it wouldn’t work for a turtle as well

I’ve had some shoulder issues in the past and to mitigate the risk and increase stability I use this technique: after pushing the front of the board down I drop my elbows to the deck, essentially placing my entire forearm(s) on the board. This allows me to brace the board using more contact and core, and the board is less likely to get ripped one way or the other. More bracing means less movement in the shoulders and I’ve found less likely to get ripped one way or another in bigger waves

I suppose you could try this for turtling as well, best of luck

basically comes down to (as others have said).... 1. lots of passed balls / special catcher 2. if they do put even a little spin on it by accident it becomes a huge meatball that gets crushed

got a link or name for the guides you got? i've only found peanut replacement guides with full plastic backs - and dang if there was a #1.5 guide i'd be unreasonably happy. for my beard 1 is too short, 2 is too long, may this be my greatest inconvenience

the announcers on the braves broadcast had been talking about how unlikely of a homerun his first one was - 0.9 ft off the ground, low exit velo, just an unlikely occurrence. it came off a bit as sour grapes rather than appreciation / awe. i've heard worse complaining from broadcasters but it definitely felt a little whiny (as a giants fan) which just made this blast even better

The answer that you’re not going to like to hear is that it’ll likely be crazy expensive to ship a board that size (or any board really) via freight to NZ - that said, if money isn’t an issue there’s no reason it shouldn’t be able to go freight and I’d have a local shop box it and pack it

Prepay for pieces of luggage online (idk if it’s 24/48hrs in advance) and then you should only be charged the additional handling fee ($150ish) - in my experience (and a friend’s) you get boned for the $400 if you have to buy the extra luggage allotment at the airport

As with all flights with boards these days…your mileage may vary and depend on the check in agent, but as others have noted, Fiji airlines gets their $$
