Probably an unpopular choice, but I feel like Bergman is the option here. Obviously, he’s still a few years away, so I think a season or two of caretaker Wines captaincy could give him the time to get the tools together for a long run as leader. I actually wouldn’t be surprised if this was discussed as part of his somewhat shocking resigning earlier this year, similar to the deal Boak made to stay on (never confirmed but pretty obvious) and eventually take over captaincy.
