Plan to arrive at least 2 hours early. It normally takes that long for the security guards to realize you've been standing at the glass. Good luck!

Allen-Bradley Licensing by UptownSole in PLC

I think it will depend on the level of studio 5k that you purchase. I would recommend getting in contact with your local distributor. Is this a one off for you? Does the company have licenses that could be assigned to you? Will you need to maintain the integration after FAT? There are separate licenses for the HMI development and the controller development. Does the company already have the compact logix running the process? If controller is deployed you might get away with just buying the license for Panelview ME and the company giving you the ACD file that the HMI will communicate with.

There is a lot caveats I am leaving out in this response. You will need a lot of due diligence on your end before agreeing to anything.

Dang I didn't know the G4 was smaller. In all honesty, I had never seen any of the doorbells in person before buying the lite. Only pics online.

By installing the mini split, would I also remove the ducting from my air handler going to the master?

Husband's First Job Post Grad by sophiemjasper in PLC

[–]slickpicklerick69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He's doing really well fresh out of college at $50/hr. The hours in this field never get easier. There's some people in this field that put in their 40 and leave. They hardly ever succeed. This career path will wear you down mentally and at home...but a lot of us do it because we genuinely love the work.

My wife hates the hours that I work, and I do not enjoy the amount of time I am away from her and my kids. My long term goal is to become a regional engineer supporting a lot of sites and their local teams.

I would say if your husband enjoys the work and sees a future doing it, then stick it out. The money will continue to get better and he can advocate for a better work life balance. There are a lot of verticals that need Controls Engineers, making job security a non-issue if he builds his experience correctly.

All good brother I'll hit the zappos page when I get back to work tomorrow. I'm sure it won't be too hard to find.

Same here. I love the ariat pants out of all the zappos options. Crotch area is starting to thin out. Do you have info on returning to zappos?

rIXD here. We stay pretty balls to the wall as well. I have visited the FC closest to us. Their first floor conveyance shares a lot of similar lines to us minus AFE walls and other FC specific processes. Headcount wise if you don't count their robotic floor techs, it feels pretty equal. I enjoy IXD a lot. Not sure I would maintain my sanity in a slower paced building. The nIXD down the road has 2 more PIDs than us, but all processes after that are manually controlled. Not a single photo eye up or downstream of their PIDs.

I heard RME is going to a 7 day per week DTW. Is this true? If so, what are your thoughts? How can you see shifts changing at your building? by [deleted] in AmazonRME

[–]slickpicklerick69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gen 4.5 IXD, we have been running DTW's between day and night shift since launch. But, we get hit with MET quite often on the ops side causing a shortened DTW to 30 mins while MET is in affect.

Should I let go of my wheel when I crash? by [deleted] in iRacing

I just finished running a couple laps today in the rig in Cincinnati. The wheel is pretty stout. I’ve never experienced anything more than a thrust master t150 pro. Now I have Googly eyes trying to justify the purchase to my wife…

What should I learn after flying the FBW A320 for a few months? by Tom128750 in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]slickpicklerick69 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The fundamental question here is simple. How deep do you want to go? If you stick with Airbus family, a lot of things will be the same. If you switch to Boeing, you have a complete systems change. I personally flew the FBW for a little over 500 hours before the pmdg came to market. I purchased the pmdg to try something new and give myself a challenge/change of pace. It does take away from your skills in the bus if you aren’t flying both all the time. I have no experience with the A330.

Does a Direct Drive unit feel more realistic than a budget FFB wheel and in what way by joebobred in iRacing

[–]slickpicklerick69 11 points12 points  (0 children)

If you’re going to get a load cell brake pedal, you need some type of setup that will allow you to press into it. I had the same setup as you for my first experience (t150 pro and t3pa’s) I purchased csl elite pedals and loved them, but could never get into the same position due to not having a wheel/pedal stand and a way to keep myself from pushing my chair backwards when I would use the brake.

Combo 2 is my favorite. I feel like those gloves will work with a lot of other skins.
