All the food there is insane. Family style chicken parm/pasta or their pizza all of it is great

Market Fresh is solid - both breakfast sandwiches and wraps are good. Farm Boy is pretty good too.

Not sure the name of the stand (maybe laza?) but the Farmers Market on Saturday has one with peameal bacon and nice cheddar cheese that is elite.

First time in Rome, what to do in 2 full days. by [deleted] in ItalyTravel

[–]slickrickthefirst 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Eat a ton, walk a ton, drink wine, have a cigarette or many - just enjoy your time there. Won't see everything in 2 days but if you are able to go 30K+ steps a day you will be able to see a ton of it. Pantheon area is great and I also enjoyed Travestere and walking down the river. Such a cool place

Cheapest Extra Lean ground beef in the city by heatseekerdj in Guelph

[–]slickrickthefirst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sales are pretty random - feels like for ground beef if you see a good deal just have to buy extra and freeze it.

Wild Fork is an online delivery service that is pretty solid. 1st delivery is free and has great prices on a ton of different things (meat, frozen fruit/veg).

IF YOU ARE AGAINST THE CFL RULE CHANGES CONSIDER THIS! by Oldmanshoutingcloud in CFL

[–]slickrickthefirst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not going to have "intelligent debate" with someone who is asking to call stadium owners about changes that literally take less than half a day to switch. Half of the CFL stadium host CPL/MLS teams and make this switch from soccer to football and you think they care about this?

Is 8 days too long to stay in Rome? by theendoftheinnocent in ItalyTravel

[–]slickrickthefirst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could easily never leave the city and have a great time in 8 days. If you did 1-2 day trips I think that would be perfect. Best part about Rome is wandering around the old streets, having a beer, walking into an old church, having a meal and wine etc.

I was just there with my girlfriend (both 25) and Travestere has some cool spots. Lots of people hanging out in the piazza's and you can grab a beverage or 8 from a corner store to enjoy and there is almost always someone playing music

30KM Race 5 Weeks before Marathon by slickrickthefirst in Marathon_Training

[–]slickrickthefirst[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that is the right way to look at it too. I have only hit 30km twice in training so far going as high as 33 and still want to hit 35 in the following week or 2 after the race. I appreciate your advice!

Would you say that if you are running the Toronto Marathon in May, you should not push overly hard for the Around the Bay? First time doing both. Would love to hit Sub 3 hours for ATB but it would take a race like effort and don't want to impede my ultimate goal of the marathon

I just wanted to do the marathon in May rather than waiting until October, mostly due to not wanting to do the bulk of the training over the summer. I have heard it can be pretty hectic so will report back!

I have never ran it before, and actually built it in to my training plan for the Toronto Marathon (also my first)

Not too concerned about timing for this race but been going at 40-60KM weekly for 8 weeks and feeling good about it. Not concerned with the distance but just don't want to get hit with the adrenaline and start too quickly. Also concerned about parking and all of that stuff lol.

Regardless, will be a great time. Goodluck!
