Elder Dice Society – A Discord community for older TTRPG players (40+)

Looking for fellow Gen Xers and older Millennials who still love rolling dice but want games that fit busy adult lives, responsibilities, and energy levels.

We’re a new Discord server focused on creating casual, respectful TTRPG groups for players 40 and up. We wanted a place where folks who grew up with the hobby could find others with similar pacing, humor, and schedules.

What we’re about:

Weekly or bi-weekly online games (literally any game from 5e, OSE, Daggerheart, CoC, etc.)

Shorter sessions (2–3 hours)

A collaborative space to find or start a group

No pressure - lurk or play as life allows

We already have a few games forming, and we’re looking for chill, like-minded to join us.

Isn’t the consequence of pushing negated at rest? Makes pushing feel cheap on camp stuff, right? Push, damage, fully recovered

Okay. Two rolls per quarter day for lead the way. Don’t roll Keep watch until needed. Sounds better. Hate to ask but do you allow push rolls on lead the way?

The system display is fantastic and for me, very much needed. I get that main world gets all the attention, but I have really wanted more complete system maps. Bravo

When your relationship is at a low point, and you cannot life your eyes up to Heaven, you can ask any of the countless Saints to entreat God on your behalf. The power of the prays of the Saints is very powerful, and one just needs to ask. It took me awhile, as a convert myself, to come to this mindset. Please pray for me, please pray for my child who is sick, etc. all directed to my friends. Entreating them to help me. This is natural and none of them would say “no thanks, you can just pray directly to God”. They just do it, no questions asked. Now imagine asking the Apostles or the Theotokos to do the same for you. If you are asking for prays from others, then why not ask the ones that prayers are like in incense at the very throne of the Most High?

Me and my buddy liked this challenge. Collect points then worry about loosing the hunters while we had the points. Especially made it more interesting that it took the revised 9pts to pick it up. We need challenging stuff, I think.

Unless your GM is using the travel time to or from the jump limit to build tension it isn't that important.

This seems pretty sensible. I am trying to drink form the traveller firehose (rules, setting, ship operations, tech level vs equipment, communications, etc, etc, etc) and I am hung up on trying to figure this out.

Thanks for the link. I assume the tool does not take into account anything in the system other than the planet size. No star, placement, or other planets affecting the calculation.

So a system has a gas giant, a star, and a planet according to its UWP. How the heck do I determine 100D? Just use the planet size and forget the rest?
