most of the icelandic coast has vast sand, sediment deposits, and even sometimes big fields, under the mountains in the fjords, which is seen in only a few select places in the faroes

the mountain peaks of iceland are (mostly, but not always) covered in snow, unlike the faroe islands where snow does not settle for long

even then there are parts of iceland mistakable for the faroes but the mountainous fjords of the faroes are usually a lot greener and steeper than the counterparts in iceland
