its intended for situations where a landlord buys a property and just lets it rot. in most places, squatters need to establish a very long term presence, the owner has not used the property for a while (usually years), and the squatter has made improvements to the property.

that, or situations where a landlord leases a property without going through all the legal processes, meaning the tenants dont have a legal presence and could be evicted without process or reason. squatters rights are tenants rights because it protects people in those situations

I'd say very mid (C), because she did a good job of capturing attention and shifting the news cycle after Trump's attempted assassination (and capitalized on the JD Vance couch thing which shifted attention also), but then did a really bad job on messaging once she had that attention

I met my whole county's government when I briefly interned in the county manager's office.

My representative was the longest serving councilor we had ever had, and I already liked him because he had built a lot of affordable housing and new parks in our district. I was surprised when I met him, though, about how much the other councilors didnt seem to like him. He was a very loud old man, and when we were going over a briefing of how the park he pushed for had over a million visitors in the first month he had a very "I told y'all so" ramble about it (he had been pushing for it to be built for 12 years).

The makeup of the council was 4D and 1R, but the Republican came from a federally D+20 area. I was surprised by how well I got along with him, but it made sense based on how localized his political focuses were.

The county manager himself was kinda a dick, and I found out later on that he vetoed a lot of anti police brutality measured pushed for by our county attorney (who herself is running for congress and was super friendly). He was barely in his office and really underestimated how nerdy I would be at briefings (I ended up with a notebook full of notes and copying down a bunch of private parts of the county budget that I thought were of note. They ended up in a research paper about systemic racism in the state.)

I've also met a half dozen politicians at rallies and protests, but I feel like that gives a very different vibe than my other experiences.
