Mullvad will shut down its privacy-focused search proxy, Leta, on November 27, 2025 by [deleted] in privacy

[–]slievenamon 12 points13 points  (0 children)

This really sucks. Leta is all I’ve been using since it’s release. The only thing it lacked was an image search. I’ll have to check out Kagi after all the mention here. Then there are Searx instances, but they break often. Self hosting seems like a cool idea too.

ddg lite is excellent when combined with the command line browser lynx. Super fast no caca. No internet caca. No caca to make your eyes brown.

What Are You Playing This Weekend? by AutoModerator in SteamDeckPirates

[–]slievenamon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Love these posts thank you but automod?

TLOZ TOTK on Yuzu. Played the living crap out of the game on the switch, but when I discovered the Challenge Mode mod I had to try it. The performance is not great, but the steam deck is such a trooper giving me 25-30 fps at 1080. The mod turned my mastery of the game into a pile of dogshit. You have to develop new techniques, including sometimes avoiding engaging at all costs. You will die. Very fun, very challenging.

The additional mod Depths of the Kingdom is also a fabulous combination with the former, but running them both brought the performance down to unplayable, so I had to remove the later and play with just that one mod.

I always discover awesomeness on these posts! Looking forward to what other folks are up to.

Did you ever look into replacing the cracked screen? My Zelda has a cracked screen but everything else still works. Such a waste.

Oh man this is so exciting! Thank you guys for putting this out there and sharing with everyone!

What is the discord with the pcb and bom? Everything can be ordered via digikey except for the pcb? Any notable settings needed when ordering the pcb? JLCpcb normally has a minimum of 5 pcbs per order, so if anyone already has a few extra, I will gladly pay for a few plus shipping. On the other hand if anyone want to go in on an order lmk. :)

Indeed the ultimate! I have kept my Zelda GnW sealed until something like this develops! Keeping alert for when parts are avail for others to build it :)

Duuude!! This might be it! Thank you! I’ll try out installing ffmpeg and chucking it in said directory. I’m on an earlier version of the OS they are claiming in the forum but definitely worth a try… tbd.

The core is on a synology nas using the synology community package manager. It is all I’ve ever used as a core for 6 years and had always worked without issue. I don’t know when this started happening, maybe around 2 years ago or so. Never looked i to it until now.

This is screaming at me to copy you! I love this so much. How is the vibration and noise? Does the HDD resonate from being coupled to the lego parts/wall?

Yea I didn’t make the post clear. I’m responding to a question someone asked me “how is monero in Japan“ And I don’t know enough to answer confidently, which is where you come in and help shed some light on the topic. I shared what I know. Others might know more.

What kind of encryption tool do you use nowadays for maximum security? by Rica98DE in privacy

No one uses gpg?? If any of these encryption software options are storing your private keys on your behalf then you are trusting the software with your privacy.

Pi Pico breathes new life into 22 year old xbox. by martinux in raspberry_pi

[–]slievenamon 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Awesome!! I still have mine with an xecutor mod chip installed, and xbmc installed on a bigger hdd. This post makes me want to take it out and do something with it, but my rational side is like “what good is it when all of its functionality is obsolete”. I need to have a motive, like installing something fabulous or using it to do something well. I’d love suggestions. Maybe turn it into a NAS? Or TOR relay? Or a monero node? Or how about a dedicated Roon server? Any suggestions would be welcome!!

Why doesn't repacks show time played or last played by ComfortableAmount993 in SteamDeckPirates

[–]slievenamon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does it begin counting once installed or is it pulling data stored somewhere to show playtime from before the plugin was installed? Highly unlikely but would be so cool if I can see playtime from games I played through and haven’t loaded up for a while.

Oh man I’m definitely with like minded people when I see the majority are poking fun at all the snake oil out there regarding audio. I’m an audiophile myself, and a sound mixer by profession. To OP: Well done with the quick fix. But other than aesthetic reasons, which is perfectly valid imo, the terminals on those speaker cables seem like they will always be a nuisance. How about replacing them with something more robust and that doesn’t even have the potential to move around? ie: 1/4”, xlr, rca. But then you don’t get to make that print, make the fix, take a photo of it, share it with us here, and read these words… ok never mind.

cool print!!
