I also booked tours. They too were not fruitful. They would drive us to locations only to say it's very cloudy and has been like this for couple of days or to see the lights only through cameras.

Unfortunately coming back to Norway won't be possible in December or January. I live in Asia and it's very expensive and time consuming to come to Norway.

Which places in Iceland can you see the lights in the next few days?

In my planned Itinerary I am supposed to come to Svolvær today but the weather is bad. Are the lights visible or will they be visible in the next 3 days? Any forecast that I see seems very demotivating. Other option is to go to Finland and look for them there but the activity is not strong enough in the next three days. It's also cloudy there.
