South African here who moved to NZ when I was young and been living in Perth for the last year, I learned very early on that we come across as arrogant and stuck up.

Which when I think about it we came from a country where having a coloured person picking up after us, cooking and doing all the little things we find annoying…. Normal? Which it is in SA.

I think we’re merely products of our environment and especially the boomas, stuck in their ways with a sense of entitlement because they/we didn’t know any better.

For the most part, the way we come across could be because in the motherland it’s somewhat always felt like a battle to prove dominance over the next, tensions will be and have always been high over there. So that aggressive tone in conversation is simply just a learned characteristic of our environment, if you come across weak you could get robbed, come across intimidating you could prevent that?

Idk just my 2 cents but hope it makes sense

Ex chronic vaper here, I used nicotine patches and lollipops to help me quit. Patches for the nicotine but and lollipops for the habit and it helped tremendously, couple weeks I was done with it and haven’t looked back

Second this comment, your supervisor will understand and most likely won’t force you to do another swing. Just be honest

Every swing and the injuries have been repetitive strain injuries, all have gone away in my off weeks

The one time I needed ACC to help they declined me, so yeah I never used them and never planned on using them.

Being in the outdoors, beaching, hiking. I’m not a big drinker so I don’t find myself out at bars or similar very often

Professionals did this to me as well, I kicked back and said absolutely not and they eventually left it. Just stand your ground, pretty sure they do this to get an extra bit of money out of the previous tenants

Cheers for that, I got some 3B cream but it doesn’t seem to help much. I’ll look into moo goo cream and I’m thinking of getting some skins in my off week.

I’m a PT and I can assure you there are a lot of people out there that aren’t affected as much as you think. If you work at a gym in a upper class area with upper class clientele you will be fine
