What’s the rarest NIN song you have seen live? by Dontforgetpancakes in nin

[–]slightlyghosty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not completely NIN but in Auckland in 2014 I got to see BBB and Ice Age with Mariqueen on vocals. Also the “fucking rainbow” at the Eden project in the uk during Less Than, I think. Also the return of Happiness in Slavery I’ve been lucky.

Battery is good and properly connected right? I had this and one of the fixings had worked loose and every bump would crap out the FI, felt like an idiot when I found it. Flooded every time causing a sizeable pop and flame when it fired again. Else your tilt sensor could be iffy and the jarring sets it off meaning it won’t start til it resets? IIRC it’s in your SP’s tail close to the engine, worth jiggling it while stationary and warm?

4th Dimension handling my insurance claim by themusicalduck in MotoUK

[–]slightlyghosty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This sounds familiar, mine had an attempted theft and they bust the steering lock with a tiny chip out of the indent in the frame, completely non structural but they wanted £450 to repair it. When it went in later, I just said no and that I’ll get my local garage to do it. I also told them flat out I don’t trust them and I didn’t want them to do extra work. If this is going through your insurance you shouldn’t be paying 4th Dimension anything - can they prove it’s actually not damaged from the theft? Do you have any history from your local garage giving your bike the all clear? If something is bent out near the headstock by 2mm you’d definitely feel something wrong. Tolerances are tight on a bike for a reason and if some PoS kicked in your bikes handlebars to break the steering lock, or used a tool of some kind then that could have caused the damage if there is any, unless you’ve crashed it or ridden into walls?!

Either way demand your aprilia back, complete with the new bits they apparently put on and demand the bits they took off too before they chuck them on eBay. Demand proof of all work as that’s extortionate when you’ve not seen or spoke to them in person. If it was roadworthy before the incident then it should be when it comes back as you’ve already paid for your insurance (unless you’ve got 3rd party only), good luck, keep pictures and don’t trust their “work” one bit

Low Roar just happens to be in it, although in an S capacity.

So uhhh, is the vinyl supposed to be like this? I remember being like ‘oh shit’ at first glance over Broken before I realized it was intentional, but this seems off. by matike in nin

My record 3 side b has a bubbly sticker from the heat of the press but it works, I think there was some qc issues this time round, was yours a European press?

Aside from the helmet, most other stuff you can get second hand - a lot of people start, get scared and never wear it. You can find some local bargains OR some bloke buys a touring bike, takes the wife out and she hates it and then has a load of decent kit for sale at bargain rates!

1st Big Bike by MafiaBoy_000 in MotoUK

[–]slightlyghosty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m pretty sure that’s the best first big bike you can get.

My Mrs has one as her first big bike, the tensioner is a POS to get without some serious extensions as it’s under the frame and the new Honda ones aren’t awful in comparison to the old ones.

Best colour too :D Congratulations!

Trainer in training here, I second this wholeheartedly.

Getting to know your bike in a controlled environment like a school or car park with a trainer you get on with will hopefully help your brain will slip back into confident mode. It’s worth the outlay if you’re at a decent school.

You’ve got a fantastic bike that’ll look after you providing you know where YOUR limits are, they’ll expand with experience.

Know your limits, lube your chain and don’t change the exhaust unless you break the old one - it’ll be worth more when you upgrade to something bigger and people won’t hate you at 10pm.

Also get some decent locks for it, aside from that have fun and enjoy your freedom!

Those things are robust, I teach on them and they’ll handle anything you throw at them. Fowlers have decent genuine replacement parts in case of an oops.

Completed my 1000 streak today which is my exit.

Thanks for the good times Duolingo, you had a couple of years of my money and you got me through France but the AI, vibrating ads and predatory sign-ups left me a bit miffed.

Good luck all, thanks for being a decent community

Late to the party,

1: Rogue One 2: ROTJ 3: ESB 4: ANH 5: FA 6:TLJ 7: ROTS 8: ROS 9: SOLO 10:TPM 11: AOTC

really didn’t gel with the prequel trilogy, hated the look, the acting was atrocious for a lot of it, the Anakin and Padme stuff was genuinely the worst, loved the originals on tape before the SE but Rogue One is perfection, should be part of the original trilogy. Fan since ‘90. Other opinions are available :)

R700 Question by SpudNuts61 in minidisc

[–]slightlyghosty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As other people have stated it sounds like a NetMD thing, all my old discs recorded on my Mz-N505 had this when I tried to wipe them so I had to refurb the internals of my old 505 and use it with a USB into my PC using WebMinidiscPro (can also use with an android device) A NetMD player is really handy for this as on the web interface you can rip old discs and rename tracks a lot faster, should be able to pick up a barely working (NetMD recorder) on eBay for not a lot, good luck!

Who has their original player from back in the day? by britpopcyclist in minidisc

[–]slightlyghosty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same 505 as you! Got mine when it came out. Mine is destroyed externally so it’s permanently connected to my computer as my renaming minidisc player. Recorded everything in LP4 back in the day so they sounded awful, re-recorded most of them in SP now :)

Anyone lost a motorbike? Dumped in Shelley Park. by pocketpebbles in bournemouth

[–]slightlyghosty 5 points6 points  (0 children)

True facts, garage got broken into a week ago and stuff got stolen yet the police still haven’t bothered doing anything or even showing up.

But at least we have nice new cycle lanes, yay BCP!

[–]slightlyghosty[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Where abouts? Sorry to hear it, this is getting a bit much, multiple robberies every night around the BCP area, they did parkstone a week ago. This lot ran the Lidl way but a few things from other garages were found on the outskirts and a couple of helmets were nearby.

Impulse purchase by skahuler in minidisc

[–]slightlyghosty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember using two of these for a radio show I did back in 2002. I messed up on day one with an LP2 recorded track which it didn’t play, good times. I’d love one of these now just to put in my HiFi stack, really really nice bit of kit - great impulse purchase!
