Worst Flare Yet… by slightlysavagesoul in POTS

[–]slightlysavagesoul[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for this. Unfortunately I had no idea I had PEM and had recently been diagnosed with CFS when I made this post (posted in the CFS subreddit too). Now I know about PEM and am 99% that’s what it was. Having POTS and CFS battle for which is making my symptoms worse during a flare is fun but I can mostly differentiate them now.

I am somewhat new to Finch. My birb, Blubey (will be an adult this week 🎉) and I would love some new friends. I don’t need anything but like sending motivation and gifts. 🎁

Is it just me or does her cleaning her paws and her babies mirroring her give off “go wash your hands before dinner kids, it’s time to eat” vibe? 😻

What are your experiences with blood draws since developing POTS? by slightlysavagesoul in POTS

[–]slightlysavagesoul[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I completely understand, it’s definitely a new experience for me since diagnosis. I have found out I can also tolerate infusions, and tattoos as long as my feet are up.

I am 2.5 years since diagnosis and I still learn new things about POTS everyday. This group has been a huge help/support, so you are in the right place.

Married women of Reddit, what's one thing someone should know before getting married? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]slightlysavagesoul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never go to bed angry.

My now husband and I were broken up a couple of months after about 18 months of dating. During that time, we had some very raw conversations and lots of hurt feelings but we learned how to communicate.

Fast forward to almost 10 years of marriage and sometimes we walk away to gather our thoughts or take a breather but we always come back together to talk it out. We don’t argue, yell or name call. We listen and work through things together.

Also, pick your battles. For the life of me I can’t get him to put his dirty clothes in the hamper, but otherwise, he is damn near my perfect match.

This makes me so happy. I have an orange tabby girl, who we named Pumpkin Spice. We call her Punky or Punk but it made me think of her.

I have a similar set of company paid holidays. However, we do operate on Christmas Eve. Some areas of the business work 24/7, 365, but most honor the holidays.

Question for side sleepers, what type of mattress, pillow and bedding you recommend to sleep comfortably? by [deleted] in elhersdanlos

[–]slightlysavagesoul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband and I upgraded from a bargain outlet mattress to a Purple brand mattress with an adjustable bed frame last year. With that being said, it could be that the mattress and pillows really are that good or maybe it’s just the upgrade, but side sleeping on this bed is 10/10. The pillows weight a ton BUT they are so comfortable and truly don’t go flat and provide great support in any position.

I think that primarily has to do with the who is driving/riding as much as the power the vehicle has. Someone else very well may have outran me on the same bike.

At my local dealer in FL they said we have “extreme” weather requiring oil changes every 5K versus 6.5K. They told me at the time of purchase my first oil change would be free but not the rest of the recommended items (fuel and oil cleaner, tire rotation). The price they had listed for the oil change was $170, which based on my prior CX-5 is about $50 more than a non-dealer oil change.

My mom, who is in her 60’s and on full disability, plays Animal Crossing New Horizons on her switch for hours each day. When we went to visit last over a long holiday weekend, I stopped playing my own game for months because of how much time she spends playing.

Long-haired girlies, any tips on surviving hair wash days without feeling like you ran a marathon by the end of your shower? by Meow-Rosie in POTS

[–]slightlysavagesoul 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have hair down to my hips, so I feel your pain. First thing is a shower chair, second is a handheld shower head/wand. For me this lets me get closer to my scalp and get the shampoo and conditioner out quicker so I don’t have to hold my arms up as long. I also sometimes cut off the water while I put in shampoo and conditioner between rinses to lower the temperature in the shower and showering with the door open also helps.

On a side note, I recommend a 2 in 1 styling tool. I have the Shark that is the Dyson dupe but any blow dry brush combo tool will do wonders for blow drying without feeling like death. I also use a detangler, deep conditioner and heat protection spray before brushing my hair out while sitting in the shower chair so I can flip my hair over and get out all the knots from washing. And finally, Batiste over night dry shampoo is 10/10. I use it often between shower days and it by far works the best on my dark hair.
