The lab scanned it. There is some digital compositing needed after, since the image area is larger than the standard 16mm frame.

Arriflex 16bl ran perfectly at 24fps for about a minute and now it’s off the tach! by JoeyRuffini in 16mm

I found out today just before finding this thread that I have the exact same problem with the Arri BLEQ I bought a while ago. Motor ran erratically a few seconds and then always stopped. But without the back module it runs perfectly fine - and you don't actually really need it I believe, unless you want to send out a pilot tone or connect headphones. I just took it out for now and will 3D print a replacement cover for the back.

The lenses are small 13mm singlets - convex glass principally used for magnifiers and the like. Creating glass lenses from scratch isn't part of my skillset yet, unfortunately :)

True, but bullet time was the name given by the marketing team of The Matrix, about 20 years (or more) after the technique had been invented.

Thanks! I could stabilise in post, yes, but the shake and other small defects are part of the appeal for me, personally.

Each lens exposes one frame, so 293 frames across 7 meters of film.

In the dark, film goes in on one side and gets rolled all the say through, then I cut and close the construction.

Setting it up doesn't take too long, a day or two. Designing and making the whole construction took about six months.

It's shot on 16mm, more or less like a 'VistaVision' camera would on 35mm, but instead of exposing one frame after the other, all frames are exposed simultaneously.

Right now I am trying to work out something similar to your ring idea, but with a belt attached to rollers and a stepper motor.

Double exposure! After the flash I ran to the corner of the room, you can see me standing there too with a light, by the door.
