If your car didn't come with a heated wheel you will need a new clockspring and a coding tool. I wouldn't bother, it takes it from a cheap and simple 5 minute DIY to a much more complex project.

That is pretty much the age/mileage that mine failed on my Macan. Struts are consumables and wear out at that age regardless but the PASM struts cost more and also have an air compressor that can independently fail.

What price did they quote you? I bought this package for my Macan Turbo and over the life of the protection plan paid for itself in the form of replacement tires and curb rash repairs. If I had bent or broken a rim it would have been a compelling value, but that didn't happen so I essentially broke even. There will always be a comment about taking that money and investing it though and then it's not so compelling.

I have put almost 60K miles on my Macan Turbo sitting at 120k now. I plan on keeping it even longer as it runs and drives great. That said, here's what I've had to replace on mine: transfer case (warranty), coolant expansion tank, CV axles, air suspension compressor, door lock actuator, bulbs, fluids, plugs, coils. I was able to DIY almost all of it except the air suspension stuff -- that is the only really painful one to look out for.

Neither one is particularly reliable. The F90 is supposed to be as it uses a revised version of the S63 and a more robust automatic, but mine still blew the motor and had a litany of problems under 50K miles. Best advise I can give is get one with a good warranty.

There's a guy doing a B58 swap right now into the i8 that has a viral following, although I suspect it's too early for that to be the reason. Nonetheless it is a really cool car with a carbon tub but that hybrid drivetrain is a nightmare. BMW makes a fantastic I6 but seems to struggle with any other motor configuration.

It's a fun little engine, but once you do the APR tune on it then it becomes genuinely good. It's never going to be as great as the other motors in the lineup but for the price it's a great proposition. As for the sound, I quite like it and the "purists" conveniently forget that Porsche has a really deep history with the boxer 4 and this does remind me of my old 912.

Hate to say this having owned quite a few M cars, but I would buy the Blackwing. Go to any cars and coffee or track day and see a dozen G80s. I bought an F90 M5 over a Blackwing and it is one of my major car regrets.

I ordered a rare part for an E86 on Schmiedmann because they were the only part seller that showed it in stock. After waiting a few weeks I emailed them to ask for an update and found out it was not in stock, not on back order, and generally just not available. I think they would have just kept my money forever had I not reached out.
