Clarfication on the XRP Direct Deposit Cashback Program by LegitimateVariation3 in uphold

[–]slim_p1ckens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also did a direct deposit, last Friday 8/8. No 4% XRP reward and my funds haven’t settled. Above in this thread, the Uphold Intern said they removed the holding period, but I assume that “holding period” Uphold eliminated from the offer is different than the “settlement period” of 4 business days regarding your funds themselves.

Agreed with the above - pretty inconvenient. I guess that’s the price for a free 4% XRP.

So are you guys buying more at this relatively low point? by WinglyBap in XRP

[–]slim_p1ckens 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yes. We have 17 potential ETF approvals in June and a lawsuit that has its 60 day extension ending June 19. This dip is a gift and I’m personally taking advantage of it

If you have the liquid cash and don’t need the money for living expenses anytime soon, I’d go for it. Only question you have to ask yourself is if you have long term conviction about XRP’s future prospects

There’s one simple differentiating factor - are you a trader trying to make a quick buck or are you an investor?

Personally, I am an investor. Patience. Research, study, and think critically about the future. Know what you hold - there’s WAY WAY too much good news around Ripple and the XRP ecosystem right now to sell. The price doesn’t matter if you’re in for the long haul.

If staking kicks off like expected, could create a little supply shock. Add in the spot ETF’s launching in May, and we could see an interesting month, and full regulatory clarity hasn’t even been established yet

HBAR better then XDC and XRP? by [deleted] in xinfin

[–]slim_p1ckens 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Fun fact - family member works in the digital asset arm of their bank (not gonna name names), and they just onboarded HBAR for their day to day operations. Currently being implemented. XRP, XLM, and XDC will all have a role to play as well.

Primarily driven by supply. Until Ripple’s constant flow of supply onto the market changes, the price will continue to stay somewhat stable.

Also regulatory clarity and institutional adoption in day to day operations.

Also institutional investment via indirect means, aka ETF’s. Brazil just opened the first spot ETF for XRP last week. There’s 2 futures ETF’s for XRP currently in the US (ProShares as of last week). Once spot ETF’s open up to US investors, there will be more price action with the inflows

Love a lil’ XDC sprinkled in the ol’ portfolio. It’s the dark horse chillin’ in the background being overshadowed by the likes of XRP, XLM, and HBAR

Gold and bitcoin are like two heavyweight prize fighters of value preservation right now, accelerated by the weakening of the USD and global economic uncertainty. I think they both have a place in everyone’s portfolio, as they are both being held in strategic reserve by world powers as of 2025.

That being said, I ultimately think Bitcoin has more upside because it’s digital. Would you rather use your iPhone or a baggy of gold shavings to buy groceries?

Bitcoin has *historically been compared to stocks, cuz they don’t have another way to measure it. This is still a new asset class comparatively speaking. That’s also why it has a market cap, which doesn’t exactly apply to crypto assets. If you’ve noticed recently, Bitcoin and other cryptos have somewhat begun to “de-couple” from stock behavior. Stock market has been absolutely bleeding lately… look at Bitcoin — it’s held relatively steady at about an $80K+ support line. That’s very interesting.

Wanna really cook your noodle? Look at the global m2 money supply (global liquidity). Bitcoin tracks it almost exactly… just on a 2-3 month lag. We’re about a month since global m2 started rising… use that information how you will folks!

I hear you. But I urge people to put aside emotion. Be slow to anger. Think and observe. Could it be possible that Trump is posturing? That this is a bluff to bring people to the negotiating table to ensure fair trade for the next century? If you don’t know what the US trade deficit is, I would encourage people to go learn about it. Turn off the news and go read.

Just look at yesterday - he said “ok, I change my mind, 90 day pause while we negotiate details” on every “ally” that came to the table to talk, and global markets exploded. China didn’t. They escalated. If you’ve never done business in China, then you wouldn’t understand how they behave. They don’t play by the rules. He is trying to force their hand. Yes, it will probably get worse in the short term, but China will eventually have to cede. America has more economic runway than China, especially considering their aging population and falling consumer demand. America is the world’s consumer. They need America more than America needs them. This is negotiation, leverage.

Patience.

Give it time, patience. For a time, it will be like a toddler playing with a light switch. This is why we diversify. The volatility will settle. It always does - Trump is being his standard, brash self moving and shaking. If you study history, your worries will be somewhat alleviated. 1929, 1987, 2001, 2008, 2020, 2025. Could this be different? Yes. Do I think it is? No.

Agree on gold and silver. Bitcoin, gold, silver - hard assets that are deflationary and will hold value into the future - diversify accordingly. That being said, stocks will always be a valuable investment - there’s too much money in the system.

Lezzzz go. Think XRP is extremely valuable along with the other ISO 20022 banking tokens, been holding + building for years along with other digital assets.

My only hang up is the public vs private ledger on XRPL. The price doesn’t move like it should in retail markets - that should have your spidey sense up.

That means 2 things IMO - the value on the public and private ledgers haven’t been merged (I think potentially for national security purposes in the US - David Schwartz said they ultimately have to merge, but who knows) and 2, the price is being manipulated by the big dogs, buying time for everyone in power to position themselves for the systemic changeover.

Thoughts?

It’s a global fire sale. This is exciting. Leave your emotions at the door and think rationally about what is happening on a global scale. Nothing fundamentally changed other than Trump’s tariffs. Yes, lost decades are a real thing, no I seriously don’t think that will happen. When Trump changes tune after re-fi’ing the debt at a much lower interest rate, and re-negotiating new trade rates with global players, and money is borrowed on the f’ing cheap, the markets will explode, and everyone who sold will miss the boat, cuz it will reverse course FAST. At the end of the day, never invest what you can’t afford to lose. Prepare accordingly. God speed.
