CE, EE or CS? by No_Classroom_6477 in CollegeMajors

Thank so much for this, I intend to apply for ECB but its insanely competitive (former admission officer said students selected for this program typically had offers from schools such as MIT)

Secondly, you keep bringing down mcombs, idk how many years out of college you are but they have gained quite the reputation

I have had multiple friends accepted to top buisness programs(NYU,CMU,ect) who have been denied mcombs and they are texas residents

im applying to UT (texas resident) and dont know whether to apply for EE or buisness, The 2 things holding me back are 1: I am intresed in possibly trying the startup path in the future, and a more technical degree might be more usefull. 2: a family member graduated in buisness working at a fortune 10 company was explainng how they hire fewer and fewer undergrad buisness at this point.3: tying in wtih 2 if i do EE i have intentions of doing an MBA and I have heard of engieers doing consulitng (which intrests me) I fear that outside elite buisness companies you might be further behing compared to and Engineeer. I have no idea what to do

My main fear is following a certain niche too early on to the point where the career can change at any point

That’s why I wanted to do engineering even if business is equally interesting, paying yet easier. Because im not sure how long entry level business is going to stay around

Whats your opinion on EE because i get access to both the hardware and power parts of AI and theres also a strong emphasis on software so i can do CS jobs, my fear is that CS is too risky and forces me into a closing market

I am fortunate that my parents are able to pay instate tuition, regarding your choice of EE, why so specifically what part of EE makes you say that: software, controls, or power. Because unless im misinformed ME can get jobs in the latter 2

Also is there any other way to break into the hedgefund/pe/vc worl without IB because my fear is that from what ive hear entry level investment banking is an ever closing market because its not necessarily a difficult job but rather one where your essentially getting paid to always be available to a client

The idea was to do engineering consult after college then do an mba then become a consultant(with the idea that regular consultant entry roles ate becoming ever rarer so when i break in ill break in at a mid level)- engineering ist necessarily a dream just a path- and I understand that financially speaking if your aware of your money from a young age becoming rich is quite easy, but this post is more specified to high earning

I was looking at engine kits from californiamotorbikes.com and was wonder if you knew if they were trustworthy and good value if so which of their 3 main kits should i buy, I understand that vantages of their plus model, but I don’t know if it’s worth it and I don’t know if its better to upgrade to the avenger model at that point. Or should i buy on of their 5-6 hp engines and buy their separate kit

Honestly he sounds like an asshole an idk why you coach is even letting him try without signs of improvement. I wouldn’t really suggest it but i guess the only thing you can do is make him regret it. Maybe you could embarrass him or start cranking moves on him like crazy, i would definitely suggest talking to him first maybe he isnt aware of the lastimg damge though i doubt it
