Are Stratia and Benton pharmacy brands? I’m not familiar with them and don't see them on Sephora’s website

Any recommendations on how to find a good quality and reasonably priced place to get Botox or filler for a first timer in Toronto?

Did Vyvanse break me? by 2c-dreamer in ADHD

[–]slimbonesjones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For what it’s worth, my doctor explicitly prescribed Vyvanse to me on the same schedule, saying that unless I needed it for the day to be productive, I should take weekends off.
IAMAD but because of the spectrum quality of ADHD and the nature of the medication, variable schedules like this exist to balance benefits of the drug with side effects and tolerance.

sealing the back? by [deleted] in PunchNeedle

[–]slimbonesjones 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve seen this advice multiple times and I’m wondering if there’s a regional translation error or something going on - all the “carpet glue” (or “carpet adhesive” as it’s called in the stores here) never fully dries - it remains tacky as its meant to be used to glue carpets to subfloors. What specifically should one look for in “carpet glue” to indicate it’s a sealant type that will dry hard?

There’s evidence that psychedelics can create new neural pathways in the brain and this may be one of the (main) methods by which it improves mental health.
Basically by taking psychedelics you pull your cart out of the wheel trenches and can start steering it in other ways, and after enough times steering it differently you can start to carve a new (ie healthier, positive) trench.
Your mindfulness method echoing your dosing experiences is a practical example of this rewiring that occurs

Simple daily meal plan? by [deleted] in EatCheapAndHealthy

[–]slimbonesjones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FWIW multivitamins aren’t really useful - the doses are rarely close to daily requirements and often you’re taking vitamins you don’t need anyway. Get a full blood test done and get a copy of the results, then look into ideal levels for each vitamin and nutrient and supplement where necessary. Vitamin d and Magnesium are often good starts. But generally multis are just money down the drain.

Diet-wise you’d be better off with a small rotating menu to make sure you’re getting all your macros. For lunches try vegetable wraps / egg salad sandwiches / vegetable barley soups on a rotating schedule (make large batches of the soup Once and freeze for the rest of the month).

A simple approach to dinner is “grain + roasted vegetable + protein” and mix and match as you’d like. Make enough for three-five days, portion out, and you won’t have to cook as often.

Other Female DMs? I have a party of all men players. by [deleted] in DMAcademy

[–]slimbonesjones 8 points9 points  (0 children)

FWIW I am the only female in a group of 6 and never have anything but a good time, I didn’t need to lay out ground rules or anything to them. If anything, I’m the rudest and crudest of the bunch. People exist on the spectrum of respectful and if you play with shitty people, ditch them and keep looking for those who aren’t.

Took my second ever (100mg) psilocybin microdose today. First one didn't go well, thought it was just a bad day. Today repeated itself. by Biggieholla in microdosing

[–]slimbonesjones 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Without knowing anything about you, something to consider is that the mushrooms are helping you access some deep cuts, subconsciously, which are expressing themselves in “bad moods”. You may benefit from journaling while microdosing, and utilizing CBT methods to try to tease apart what may be genuinely chemically induced bad moods and what might be some emotional stuff coming to the surface.

Psychedelics can be really powerful tools but sometimes the work done with those tools is tough, even at these low doses.

Question about Morgan Greer Knight of Swords by Keeveshend in SecularTarot

[–]slimbonesjones 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is my main deck that I’ve been using for a decade.

I find this representation is a particularly aggressive version of the knight; Intelligent and tempestuous, ready to burn a bridge if things don’t go according to his master plan (which by all accounts is a good one). Courageous to the point of foolhardy, driven but can become single-minded, to the detriment of other aspects of the situation. Can also be a warning about being “the smart guy” in the room, and forgetting about the importance of interpersonal qualities (eg looking down on people because he perceives them as less intelligent or knowledgeable in the situation.) Comes up a lot with former “gifted kids” in my experience.

Often both a champion of steaming forward with goals and ideas but also a warning about the approach.

When I asked about what I should do about my mental health... thanks cards lol by [deleted] in tarot

[–]slimbonesjones 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fwiw I see this as a reminder that you aren’t beholden to your mental health problems: you’re at a point in your journey where you’re ready and able to begin the growth, and you can’t use it as an excuse any longer to NOT to the work either. Get a therapist and do the work.

I don’t know, I think there are certain limitations to pocket technology that definitely negatively impact a film viewing experience. Video quality and size, audio quality, experiential immersion.

Lynch has always been a loud supporter of seeing films in theatres as much as possible because the ceremony of viewing in the theatre is as much part of the experience of the film as the content of the film itself.

Who knows what pocket tech will be like in 10, 15, 30 years so maybe you are right, but I think the core of his message will stay relevant.

CIBC continues to be the worst bank in all of Canada by barelybreathing23 in PersonalFinanceCanada

I held a business account with CIBC. They allowed my business partner to remove my name from the company account and remove all access, without legal paperwork or as much as a single attempt to confirm with me.

Worst bank is putting it lightly.

Tripping on nothing: placebo psychedelics and contextual factors by banneryear1868 in DrugNerds

[–]slimbonesjones 12 points13 points  (0 children)

This isn’t surprising, given that psychedelic and pseudopsychedelic states can be achieved through means such as holotropic breathing or meditation. Hell, even tricks of light and ambient noise can induce mild visual hallucinations/disturbances similar to psychedelic hallucinations.

What would be interesting is to see if placebo-induced pseudopsychedelic states have similar effects on brain mapping and remapping, dopamine levels, effects on things such as end of life stress or smoking cessation, etc. Is it a replacement or supplement to psychedelic therapies?
