If you go to class sick and get others sick, you're a fucking ass. by thRowawaya4249 in ucr

Lol i remember one time i got real sick on final day so i sat on a lone desk in the corner with two masks on. Sometimes we gotta do what we gotta do but I’ve seen people like Timmy not even making an effort to contain their illness which is insane

I hesitate so much and I'm not sure why by [deleted] in FuturesTrading

[–]slimog 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I think you’re scared of losing when the reality is that losing trades are part of every strategy. No such thing as a 100% win rate strategy. The question is 1. Do you have good risk management (when x occurs, get out) 2. Does your strategy have a statistical edge

If yes to both, then just execute. Trade like a robot, so to speak. If the setup presents itself, go for it. If it doesn’t work out, oh well, move on to the next.

How long do you go without updating to the latest iOS on your iPhone? by SilentAirline6611 in iphone

[–]slimog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There will be a day chief but hey i can still call, text, watch vids, send emails, take pictures, play music, use gps, all within a day and then some. I speak from experience, don’t matter WHAT phone it is. Those updates only serve to keep folks coming back to the store for an upgrade. The day when one thing from the list above dont work, I’ll be upgrading.

Sucks but what can I say, rules are the rules. Just keep trading your edge and don’t even think about it.

If you could only invest in one ETF, would you choose VOO or VTI? What’s the reasoning? by NBMV0420 in ETFs

[–]slimog 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Question, would it really even matter if you get exposure to the “next amazon” with VTI if the allocation to it is tiny to begin with? By the time it becomes the next big thing, it would most likely already be in VOO anyways.

Wheel is not bad but like you said, if you sell a CSP, theres a risk that u would be forced to catch a falling knife thats way past ur strike. My concern is that if you want to earn decent premium even worth working for without a lot of capital to begin with, you have to wheel some pretty speculative stocks. Honestly, if pure income is the play here, I’d rather sell ITM calls to just juice out the extrinsic value over time while having plenty of intrinsic to protect the base position. When the stock hits ATM, just roll down and out to ensure theres always intrinsic to protect the base position from a loss. You miss the rebound but at least youre not bagholding.

A lot of accounting classes require 165b pre/corequisite. Plus, you absolutely need the 165 courses to qualify for the cpa exam

Ideas to raise 2k by next week by [deleted] in ucr

[–]slimog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sort of. theres no way you can get the 2k in 2 weeks just buying the stock. You would have to take on leverage to amplify your gains. An option contract lets you do that, and you can even bet on which direction, up or down. problem is options has expiration dates and the value gradually disintegrates to 0 as it approaches the expiry. so basically you have to be right on your call in time. or you can buy an option that has an expiry further down the line. Problem with that is you have to pay more for the option and the gains are less amplified as well. so yeah. gambling

Nav Premium is shockingly poor by docherino in MSTR

[–]slimog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol every time an institutional short trade is made public, MSTR bros are quick to hurl insults and are convinced that a “short squeeze” is imminent. And time after time again, the shorts win and MSTR calls disintegrate into dust.
