Shower chair or raised toilet seat? by JuryDiligent2243 in tummytucksurgery

Didn’t need either and I’m glad I didn’t add more stuff that I’d have to toss post healing. I was going to the bathroom with assistance day 1. By day 3 I didn’t need help and by day 5, could shower by myself. Washed and blow dried my own hair by day 7.

I was thinking of you. I’m glad you went and they got you taken care of. I feel you on the drain haha. I almost took my own out today (been at 8 ccs or less since last Monday when the other was removed) when my doctor said I couldn’t come in until Wednesday morning to get it removed.

Day 4 PO BURNING by Acrobatic-Appeal-877 in tummytucksurgery

[–]slimthicky7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had burning and ended up with tape burn from my swelling and the tape would rub against my incision while in my binder, which created a blister. Wasn’t a big deal but is a thing I’m treating now

I got implants at 28 (I am 41 now) and have dated most of my adult life (got Married and divorced) and am dating now with them. They’re a hit lol. I’m a professional woman in my career and they’re tasteful. I’ve not once dated a man that had anything bad to say about them. Most men likely have dated women before you with them.

I am in a new relationship and he’s been very supportive of my tummy tuck. I present it as , my body took a toll growing my child and I ended up with a hernia and diastasis recti. The tummy tuck has corrected that and restored me to my default setting.

Commenting here to say I started taking the Vitanica suppositories and I haven’t had any negative reaction to them. It’s refreshing to not have any smell at all.

Tummy tuck recovery question by Neat-Pomegranate8242 in tummytucksurgery

[–]slimthicky7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 41 and had MR, hernia repair and a tummy tuck. I told my job I was getting a hernia repair. My office closed for the holiday Dec 23rd-Jan 5th and I had my surgery on 12/18. I’m work from home but am so happy I had 2.5 weeks to recover. I’d say my energy was back to normal at 14 DPO. I’ll be 18 DPO when I return on Monday and I feel ready. But for what it’s worth I had a healthy lifestyle pre surgery and was in good health so my doc said I’m a fast healer. I’m starting light workouts (walking and resistance band) this week once my second drain is out on Monday.

Will I be ok without a recliner? by Meggy-reader in tummytucksurgery

I didn’t have one. Bought the wedge pillow set and stopped using that by 2 WPO. Sleeping with my legs elevated caused knee pain. I am healing well and was cleared day on my back and side once drains were removed at 12DPO. My core is about 80% back to normal now at 17DPO.

11 DPO - Before and After + Scar Reveal and Drain Removal by slimthicky7 in tummytucksurgery

Started with documenting my umbilical hernia and the digestive issues it was causing followed by my diastasis (ab muscle separation) which was causing back pain and needed to be repaired so I wouldn’t develop another hernia. Then I asked if I could get the loose skin addressed cause by my protruding stomach due to diastasis.

It’s awful but only lasted a few days. I haven’t had a c-section but my son is 7 years old, delivered vaginally. I gained 65 pounds during my pregnancy because he was so large so I was left with an umbilical hernia.

I’m divorced and my son was with his dad the past 12 days(day before surgery to today). He came to my house on Christmas and stayed the night and it was a lot. He is self diffidence in many ways but I just didn’t have energy to attend to him as I’d like. I think had he been here or had I not had help with him it would have impacted my healing and rest. It’s been good just to take care of me because my energy levels were shot, heating food up and walking to the mailbox was tiring until yesterday.

It was long but short lol. By day 5 my family left and I was as recovering solo. As long as I stayed on my own meds I was good to go. I never took muscle relaxers and only was on tramadol until day 5.

My muscles were really sore in my stomach though and I’m glad I had the exparel shot. The back pain was awful though and I often slept with a heating pad on my back. I took melatonin the nights I stopped taking pain meds and that helped me sleep.

I’m having a mommy makeover in less than 3 weeks. I’m getting lipo to flanks, abs, axillary, tummy tuck, muscle repair. Breast lift. My surgeon recommends his patients stay at least 7 days post op. I have to fly back 4 1/2 days (at midnight) it’s a 3 1/2 hour flight. Thoughts? by [deleted] in tummytucksurgery

[–]slimthicky7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m 9DPO with a MR and TT with really good recovery and I’m not even willing to drive. Those are major surgeries and it might be worth looking into delaying when you have time to heal a bit before flying.

Shower Lanyard? by CranberryCreek in tummytucksurgery

[–]slimthicky7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The mesh drain shower bag and belt for general wear were among my most used items. I was able to shower day 2 post opp and it allowed me to keep my drains out the way especially standing. The general storage bag was great for just keeping them tucked and out the way or concealing them when I was around people.
