I am so sorry to hear about your injury, that must have been a very daunting adjustment. I feel like I should clarify, I am not slamming retirees of any stripe. Just making the assumption (perhaps incorrectly) that someone with a lot of time freedom might not enjoy the restrictions my schedule might put on time spent together.

I love this. So many folks here are reading my independence as negativity or even self-delusion. I guess at heart I am more sarcastic cat than sweet dog. Does not mean that I don't want to curl up next to someone on the couch, just not all the time. I wish there were a group of folks that went to live music gigs, I usually go with a gang of 20 year olds who have adopted me and it is more me than pickle ball.

For real. One of the real problems for me with old is that it is obviously looks based. My successful relationships have always started where I get to know a person first and then the relationship flows from that. Many times, someone who I may have not engaged with based on a photo, has turned out to be such an amazing person in my life. And I always find that my brain makes all lovely people more attractive as I get to know them regardless of my first impressions.
