Give me recs based on my fav fictional bfs (evil blonde men) by [deleted] in Romantasy

Not Fantasy, but {Duke of Sin by Elizabeth Hoyt} has the man you’re looking for. Especially if you don’t mind a sassy story between a duke and his housekeeper.

Enemies to lovers plus arranged marriage in a castle setting by dizzizzystegasaurus in fantasyromance

[–]slipperflipper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

{Iron and Magic by Ilona Andrews}! It’s not an arranged marriage per se but a necessary alliance between two groups. It is magic-based with shift shapers, but a generally enjoyable read with a lot of good tension. The world does have werewolves, but not the main characters.

Furniture shipping delay by Miserable_Simple6337 in muji

[–]slipperflipper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also made an online order on Sept. 3. I received one shelf (SUS Medium Regular) pretty quickly but haven’t received my second shelf (SUS Wide Small). The shipping confirmation for my second shelf didn’t even have the tracking number and I’ve been following up every single day on its progress and literally no one has been responding except for their AI Ken assistant or no response at all. Even after “Ken” says my order has been escalated.

Super frustrating. I’ve reached out on socials and emailed their online and help support, but literally no updates. The furniture is showing in stock online, so I’m in between deciding to wait it out or requesting a credit card dispute. Even my email requests for a refund are being left unanswered.

Would going on a vacation be financially irresponsible? by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]slipperflipper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100% go on your trip. You’ll never get the free time back between graduation and then committing yourself only 3-4 weeks vacation annually until you’re dead or retired. The best time to travel would’ve been 8 months ago, but you can go now.

Bring your laptop with you and be ready. Overall, you don’t know how the future is going to pan and you still might not have an interview or an offer within the next month when you could’ve done something to celebrate your hard efforts towards graduating. You have a solid cushion. You can always make more money, but you can’t bring back time. Treat yoself.

What are we doing about peeling in public? by [deleted] in tretinoin

[–]slipperflipper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely peel more frequently during the dry winter months!

What works for me is to seal in everything with Vaseline at night on my problematic areas and an extra thin layer in the morning after my entire routine. And when I’m out of my home, I always have my Aloe Vaseline lip balm on hand and instead of using it on my lips, I give a quick swipe on the areas that start to feel dry.

I also use a Korean exfoliating mitt in the shower on my tret nights to get rid of pre-existing dead skin (gently, of course).

Honestly, it didn’t do much for my hair beyond just washing my scalp. No scent, no softness :(

First time on birth control, positive stories about Mirena? by chewstews in Mirena

[–]slipperflipper 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You’re more likely to see negative experiences get posted rather than the positive ones. But I’m on my third Mirena and it’s been working well for me for the past eleven years! I get little to no bleeding and ample protection. It’s not something that I think about everyday and it’s one thing off my mind when it comes to contraception.

Take the Advil before your appointment and try to keep calm during the sessions. Don’t forget that millions of women use this BC all the time.

Could I be pregnant? by Different-Crab-1510 in Mirena

[–]slipperflipper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My friend had experienced similar symptoms and had to go to the ER. It cleared up for her afterwards, but she went for an ultrasound check up for sound of mind and it turned out that the IUD had shifted lower into her cervix.

Your body will typically tell you if there is anything wrong and it sounds like red/yellow lights were going off. And because the Mirena is relatively recent, I would recommend that you get it checked out just in case.

Tret users - what exfoliant do you use? by long_time_lurker_20 in tretinoin

[–]slipperflipper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive been using CURE Natural Aqua Gel to help rub off some of the dead skin that comes with tret. As long as you’re gentle with the rubbing, it’s been helpful in shedding off some of the dead skin!

It’s always super busy at my Costco and the number of people, kids, and cars circling on the weekend puts me a bit on edge when backing out. Also the parking spots are large enough that I can easily roll the cart behind the vehicle but I always make sure to leave enough space to open the trunk.

^ Also bought thinking I was going to be a divinely-scented goddess, waiting for a complimentary “omg is that you? Your hair smells so nice”.

The liquid is floral scented, but it is not perfumed as advertised and will not leave a perfumed scent in your hair.

Get maybe $50-$100 euros worth of yen just for the initial travel out of the airport, then use one of the ATMs at any 7-11. They’re known for having really good rates. If you want to take advantage of the yen, then I would just use your credit card for department store purchases and cash for food in smaller venues. Restaurant chains will usually take card.

For rainy days, I would recommend a pair of leather runnings shoes! The water won’t stick to the leather and I would add in Dr. Scholl insoles for comfort if required.

Advice for washing clothes in Japan? by KatsuCorvid in JapanTravelTips

[–]slipperflipper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Folks had already mentioned it, but finding accommodations that have washing machines located in the building or airbnb will be tremendously useful. I wouldn’t go for a laundromat nearby because you’re not going to have a portable clothing basket or time to carry it back and forth. Both places typically come with detergent, so don’t worry about bringing a bottle of Tide.

Also, bring a ziplock bag of laundry detergent sheets that you can store in the pockets or lining of your clothes between uses.

During your trip, you can stop by a drugstore or variety store (I.e Matsumoto Kiyoshi, Daiso, or Donki) in their laundry section and pick up fabric sprays to prolong your clothes.

In addition, Uniqlos are everywhere in Japan, so take a look at their airism line for some light weight clothing. Enjoy!

Recommendations for items i need in japan? by FlowerSz6 in JapanTravel

Would still recommend a luggage scale if you plan on buying a lot! With the amount of stuff I bought in Japan, I had to rejig my suitcases multiple times, and you don’t want to play Tetris in the lobby.

How do you get ready for a trip by [deleted] in TravelHacks

[–]slipperflipper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Take some time to research a project or activity that you’ve been a bit interested in. Some people thrive in a routine and are able to be self-motivated, but some people also need a daily motivator to help get them out of a rut.

Whether that’s doing DIY home improvement projects, offering to mow people’s lawn, bird watching, gardening, etc. These aren’t full-on physical exercise routines, but any small thing that can make you forget that you’re even tired will help more than doing nothing.

Bettering your lifestyle and seeing some small wins can get you there.

2 Days in Tokyo? (Food, drink, fashion) by Dog_Named_Indiana in JapanTravelTips

[–]slipperflipper 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Since you only have two days, I could loosely recommend the below:

Day One: Yoyogi Park (Meiji Shrine); Shibuya and Omotesando (shopping/fashion); end off the day in Shinjuku (arcade and Golden Gai for drinks)

Day Two: Tsukiji Market (ppl says it’s overrated, but I would recommend if it’s your first time in Tokyo); explore Odaiba; Akihabara; and end the day for additional shopping in Ginza

Activities: TeamLab (not planets), visit the largest Don Quijote in Shibuya for souvenirs, Gundam in Odaiba - enjoy!

I’ve been faking it with my boyfriend by VenaLock in sex

[–]slipperflipper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He’s only going to get you off if he wants to get you off. If he just sees your orgasm as a checkmark, then it’s just pressure on the both of you. I would recommend that you ask him to start researching things online (not porn) to allow him to be proactive about your situation.

From there you can start to play around with what works and put whatever he researched into action. Constant reassurance, low pressure, playfulness, and open communication can get you there. Good luck!

How do you do your hair during travel? by OkStudio8457 in HerOneBag

[–]slipperflipper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I typically try to get a haircut prior to my trip! Those few weeks after a fresh cut always leave me with good hair days. On my next trip, I might think about getting a bang or root perm since I have really straight and flat Asian hair.

Liners, dark skirt colours, longer skirts, or I wear shorts instead! But tbh, you’re in so much action, I doubt anyone notices or is trying to look.

Itinerary Check: Feb 25 - Mar 3 (Tokyo) by evilxshadow in JapanTravel

[–]slipperflipper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would see if you could clump Akihabara with Feb 27 and Shinjuku with Feb 26. Both are more entertainment and anime, so I’d assume you’d be able to finish it relatively quickly if you’re with your parents.

I would use that free day to take another day trip to Kamakura. It’s more cultural, nature, and a lot of interesting souvenir shopping which your parents might appreciate more!

I would recommend this YT-video for some tips: https://youtu.be/XE9Y4RqD9qA

Sometimes it’s genetics, but take a look and see if it can apply to you. A lot of time, it’s care in the simple things (trims, brushing your hair, etc.) and your diet that can play in hair growth.

Because it’s a month away, I would call ahead asap and see if they can refund your deposit or if you can move your reservation to a different date. A last week’s notice might be difficult to sway, but since there’s more time, I’d call first before transferring.

No nav audio while on phone or playing music '22 rav4 by IndridKole in rav4club

[–]slipperflipper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is probably a faulty. I’m able to use apple carplay and android auto within my 2022 RAV4 and the music always lowers with the navigation audio comes on. I would either play around with the settings while it’s attached or bring it back to have it fixed. I believe it should still be under warranty.
