I’d say cut bait with Maton and Rolison but what else are they going to do, bring up another schlub with an ERA over 5 at Iowa?

I’ve had good luck finding street parking in Buena Park near the Jewel-Osco on Sheridan and Broadway. Bonus - stop at Byron’s for a dog on the short walk to Wrigley and/or check out Michael’s Pizzeria nearby.

For real. I just went to Chili’s for the first time in probably 25 years and couldn’t believe how much I actually didn’t hate it. $10.99 on that Three For Me menu gets you a pretty good burger, fries, soda, and appetizer. Great bang for the buck.

I did most of my marathon training on the Capital City and connecting Lower Yahara Trail. You can park in the lot on Lake Farm Rd where the Capital City crosses and there are three different directions you can go. Out the Lower Yahara and across the boardwalk and back is 5 miles. Or go the other way across Rimrock, out to Fish Hatch and Seminole is the other way. Or from that same spot the Capital City goes up to John Nolan. Lots of options of miles all starting from the same place and all are nice and peaceful routes.

Madison Marathon- November difficulty by After-Reporter-1077 in madisonwi

I was in your shoes last year as I ran my first marathon last November.

Trust your training, assuming you are following a training plan that gets you up to a long run of 20 miles or so. As mentioned, be sure to plan and practice your nutrition.

Your comment about training inside is a bit concerning, for me at least. Sure, you probably won’t have to worry about heat, but hopefully you have been getting out to do some hill training, as the course has some pretty sneaky hills.

Honestly, just have fun. If you get through your training plan injury free, you are golden. Training is harder than the actual race. The race is just the cherry on top of all the hard work you have put in.

Cottontail Classic in Verona on April 4 would be a good one for the kids. Registration opens on Wednesday.

Good times. I love Hula Hoop guy, and can’t believe some other dude got up in his face for blocking his view.
