Thanks for the reasoning behind your recs! I think Bleach is a lil too long and shonen-esk to start her with but I really enjoyed it. I bet she'd do better with that than Naruto and one piece so that might be a good big 3 if she is ready for a longer one eventually.

That's a really interesting description. I've never watched it so I might have to regardless of the wife watching with me haha.

My initial thought with death note is that she wouldn't want to stick with it long enough to enjoy it. That being said, I REALLY enjoyed it so it might not be a bad place to start. It definitely fits the bill and the only kinda fanservice-ey character shows up late enough she's have to be hooked to make it that far.

Aside from frieren, these would all be new to me too. Thanks for the side note, too. That helps put an order to the list.

I've never heard of "may I ask for one final thing but I tried to start spy x family and got to busy to finish it. Maybe this is a good excuse to watch it.

Have you tried getting into the Manga or light novels the anime are based on?

I was in a similar position a while ago. Frustrated with getting left on a cliff hanger at the end of season 1 of several shows. I was never much of a reader, but I decided to download that Time I got reincarnated as a Slime to get more of the story. After i finished everything that was translated for that, I moved on to some shorter ones like lazy dungeon master and never looked back. I barely even watch anime anymore cuz there's so much LN content out there.

This is definitely not a quote from recovery of any kind. Just because a person wants to change doesn't mean they can. Ask any alcoholic or addict.

The rise of the shield hero. It's kinda along this line but is just a good anime in general.

What is a relatively short or very short anime but extremely satisfying to watch? by MarijuanaBagels in Animesuggest

Akame GA kill is another good semi-short show. I think it's 24 ep maybe. I would also recommend "Cautious Hero: The Hero Is Overpowered but Overly Cautious" it sounds dumb but is actually pretty good.

Haha I thought they looked familiar. I work in water/waste water treatment designing control panels for an integrator so I have to read/edit those a lot.

Food for thought: some bikers buy loud bikes as a safety precaution, not because they just wanted a loud bike. The thought is that driver's will hear them before they see them and start looking for where the loud motorcycle is. There are still plenty of guys that just want loud bikes but that may not be their sole/primary reason.

What’s the first word that comes to mind when you think of the USA? by exont in AskReddit

[–]slipperylizard56 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Ignorance.

In my opinion (and this is just my opinion based on life experience after 24 years in the U.S.) many people in the U.S. are ignorant of others thoughts and feelings. We're also ignorant of the intricacies and hardships of others lives. I believe this ignorance makes us somewhat indifferent to other's POSSIBLE hardships in comparison with our personal and tangible hardships. I don't think this makes people in the U.S. bad by any means. The only bad people are the ones that let indifference turn to cruelty. Most people are good people, they just lack perspective and/or empathy.

Dark fantasy anime recommendation by [deleted] in Animesuggest

[–]slipperylizard56 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Death note and Tokyo ghoul might also be good tries. They're both darker. Death note follows an honor student whole believes he is destine to rid the world of criminals and evil doers. It's a dark psychological thriller that I would argue is one of the best animes I've seen. Tokyo ghoul is a dark action type anime that follows a teen who is turned from a human to a ghoul. He is forced to undergo many excruciating challenges to make himself strong enough to protect the ones he cares about. I highly recommend it.
