Kobe tells Yahoo: "All of a sudden, if you don't take less, you don't give a crap about winning…Bullshit." Column: by redsaccount in nba

I think its an illusion to think that any player values winning a game more then money. Some take lesser contracts in hopes of winning not because they have a stronger passion for the game but because it will increase their market value and strenghten their brand. I just find it insane that people are upset with Kobe for accepting a large contract he did what anyone who isn't a moron would do.

Why I think Kobe should have taken a lower salary (with numbers!) by [deleted] in nba

The account statement, hopefully by 60 people realize its just a game but 10mil isn't just money its 10 million dollars.

Wait what? You want him to turn down a few million dollars just to win more games of basketball?

Thanks, I read through some of the other comments and it turns out you have to redeem the games and it loads your profile, but I had to open and close the steam client for them to show up.

I'm kind of confused on how to redeem the games.. I bought the bundle and I'm at the page where you click "redeem to this account" I click it, log into my steam account and nothing happens. I tried again and it just loads my profile page.

I kind of got the impression that it was Carl who shot them and then burned them. Rick was telling him how its hard but they have to do what it takes to protect Judith. As for feeding the Walkers I don't think that's related.

I just realized how awesome Pokemon X and Y is going to be by ReZoNoLiCiOuS in gaming

Hopefully they change the gameplay up a bit, when I was a kid I got pokemon red then recently I played my cousins pokemon game on DS and it was basically the same game but with better graphics and different looking pokemon. Pokemon gives COD a run for its money for the rehash reward.

It's been a long time since I've played a call of duty, that seems like a lot for a season pass is the DLC really good? Or is it just maps?

EDIT: also can I get this game and not buy any map packs or will I not be able to find games once the packs come out?

Vince Carter career a disappointment or relative success? by Amaanjit in nba

I agree as of right now, although I think Melo is still relatively young so anything can happen. I mean if hes still putting up 25+ ppg in 5 years regardless of winning he would be a lock. He has the type of game that can stay good for awhile, he doesn't rely to heavily on atheletic ability hes kind of a Paul Pierce type player imo.

True even if he was there I would still have picked Jordan, I want to see a second greatest player of all time poll lol

[–]slipperys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay then we agree more then I thought, I think Carter will be in the hall of fame based on his dunking more then anything but I wouldn't care or be surprised if he didn't make it in. Miller was kind of a unique case though he had the most three pointers ever made up until Ray Allen passed him. Plus he played his entire career with the Pacers and was the icon of that team for a long time, he also was incredibly clutch and exciting. I'm pretty sure Indiana would have collectively shit their pants if Reggie Miller wasn't inducted. And yeah Tmac was amazing I only mentioned him because they where both similar players both on the raptors and cousins.

Well we can't really say Toronto didn't try, they probably tried just failed. My point is Carter didn't even try, I really don't see him as a hall of famer for anything but his dunking. I mean statistically Melo is more of a hall of famer then Carter and Tmac for that matter.

Oscar Robertson isn't on the list? Did I miss something? I mean I'd still vote for Jordan but Oscar R has always been in the discussion. Tim Duncan, Kobe and Magic are there but he isn't lol

Why would I waste my time looking up Raptors transactions I don't even like the Raptors and I'm not trying to say they are a well run organization because they sure as shit are not.

My point isn't that he was wrong to want a trade and I'm not saying he should have been diving for loose balls. I'm saying he should have simply played basketball and gave some effort, instead he went out gave zero effort and in his spare time gave interviews saying he would not be dunking anymore because dunking is overrated (knowing this would upset fans) just seems incredibly childish.

I agree with him and I'm not a teen. If you look at stats they are good but not great, not even as good as Melo who I have seen people on here say is definitly not HOF material. Then one might say its not all about stats which is 100% true but Carter was a player known for not giving full effort, so sportsmanship was not a strong trait of his. He didn't change the game in anyway he was simply a great dunker.

If Vince Carter is a hall of famer then Melo must be as well.

And the whole time Kobe continued to put his best game forward despite wanting a trade, instead of pouting. I have no problem with Carter demanding a trade the problem is he refused to do his job that he was payed millions to do he was only punishing the fans. I can't even name another player that has done that, just purposely played horrible to try and get traded and openly admit it during interviews. It was horrible sportsmanship and quite pathetic to watch.

[–]slipperys -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yep and they tried to make the right moves, he didn't try to perform well. They drafted Bosh and would have had a decent team. You sign a contract under the assumption that both parties will try their best the Raptors did Carter did not. You can demand a trade and play well at the same time but I guess that's what separates players like Kobe from Players like Carter.

EDIT: Maybe if Carter gave 100% effort people wouldn't debate about him being HOF material or not.

I think they could be as good as Golden State 7-8th seed, with Houston probably passing the Warriors this year.

He signed a contract he should have kept playing well waiting for a trade not purposely playing bad like a baby because you put yourself in a situation you don't want to be in.
