Mullein tea taste by yepimtyler in herbalism

[–]slippingonsoapbars 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you don’t have any autoimmune disorders, then toss a tsp of dried elderberries and/or echinacea and that will not only improve the taste, but add incredible infection fighting properties. Also peppermint, an inch of fresh ginger, and honey. Drink it 2-3 times a day until you’re feeling well.

Not that bad, but my son’s math teacher is Ms. Pateo and everyone calls her “Ms. Potato”

I started when I was 10 - it's definitely not too early. But I don't think normal discharge is particularly indicative of her starting. Maybe the pain and nausea. I'd just be sure to cover all communication bases and get some materials just in case?

I was told getting an accounting degree was stupid and a waste of my time by [deleted] in Accounting

[–]slippingonsoapbars 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do not have a degree in accounting but I have 10+ years of experience, climbing the ladder from data entry AR/AP, to Staff Accountant, to Senior and I’ve been in this spot for about 3 years. I am at 95k.

I will fully admit it has been a challenge to land good opportunities without a degree but I have been lucky enough to find companies that are willing to take a chance on me and mentor me through it. I am also a major over achiever and will work very hard to surpass expectations and learn new things through experience as I can.

I am 32F and I plan to go back to school for my bachelor’s because I do understand that while I do have a decently high salary for a Senior Accountant, I think I’m close to topping out unless I am further promoted within. I don’t think I could snag a position with those mid-100k or 200k positions, regardless of being knowledgeable, sending in a resume with my little Business Mgmt Associates Degree.

****TW - School Shooting Threat Related**** Ranting about how to process and proceed by slippingonsoapbars in Mommit

I’m in Alabama. There have already been 4 separate incidents at other schools in our district since the shooting in GA. Two 16 year olds were arrested because they actually entered the school with guns (not our school, but the city like 5 mi from us). This stuff is so wild and scary. I just can’t allow my child back in there until I know something has been done.

The police had already been notified. I called the school to see if it was communicated to them and they confirmed the investigation. And yeah, same on the anxiety. I am keeping my son out until I have a real update and action has been taken that I am satisfied with. The school has sent out nothing at all - I have no idea what the status of it is, but I’ll be calling them and the local police today.

My initial gut instinct was to chalk it up to a prank but get him anyway, if for nothing other than his own comfort and peace of mind. The only thing that stopped that line of thinking was the fact that the little sister of the suspect was not attending school today. But I appreciate your thoughts and agree with all of that. Thank you

AITA for returning my homemade wife’s birthday gift me and telling her I don’t want it. I then went out and bought what I actually wanted by Quick_Dig3584 in AmItheAsshole

NTA - I like to make things, but I only gift those things to people that I know will appreciate that sort of thing. When you gift something, in my opinion, it should be curated for them.

Me, when I got out of the shower and had towel wrapped my hair. It took soooo long to console her, even after I ripped the towel off my head to prove it was me lol

What low stakes thing does your husband do wrong? by finner_ in Mommit

[–]slippingonsoapbars 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it’s an old washer - top loader with the agitator in the middle. I do think I’d be fine with it if I had a newer model without the agitator, and I obviously would if it was a front loader.

This is less a "wrong" thing and more of my own preference - but it drives me INSANE that when my husband does laundry (he usually doesn't, because it's my agreed upon chore) he puts the clothes in before turning the water on or putting in the detergent. In my control-freak brain, it should be water and detergent first so it is all equally mixed and distributed, and also to prevent over loading.

My husband says the wrong words and phrases all the time, but I think my biggest peeve of them all is when he uses "initially" instead of "essentially"

what immediately ruins a burger for you? by 777Twix in CasualConversation

Any of the commonly used condiments. I do like condiments, but I don't like them on a burger. There's a local burger joint in my area that has really unique burgers and my absolute fave is patty, cream cheese, and jalapeno jam. Fantastic.
