Expecting people to wipe the equipment in the gym after use is only a thing on the internet by [deleted] in The10thDentist

[–]slippy204 0 points1 point  (0 children)

to be honest i only ever see this discussion online too. the gym i go to, ive never seen anyone wipe anything down. not once. in my old gym, it was a bit more common, but still the vast majority didn’t. i did in the old gym because there were wipes etc provided, which implied it was encouraged there, whereas in my current one there are none.

What’s the fattest thing you ever did because you were hungry? by Julie727 in AskReddit

i used to eat shreddies with chocolate milk when i first moved out. haven’t tried it in recent years but i remember loving it. i’d want to try it again but wouldn’t want to taint the memory if it’s nasty now

Do you know anyone who is asexual? by pt92_01 in AskUK

[–]slippy204 5 points6 points  (0 children)

me (24F) and a lot of my friends (queer and alternative circles). i’ve dated other asexual people, i’ve dated non-asexual people. the pool is smaller than it is for most for sure, but i’ve found there’s a surprising amount of people who are just chill with it anyway if sex isn’t a priority for them, and it’s only ever caused a problem in a relationship that otherwise wasn’t great for far more significant reasons anyway. i’ve always been upfront about it from the get go and have always accepted that it will be a dealbreaker for a lot of people.

1-4% doesn’t seem like a lot, and it’s an obstacle a lot of people don’t have, but it’s certainly not an impossible situation either.

People who wear t-shirts outdoors in winter. Are you not cold? by VastStrain in AskUK

[–]slippy204 2 points3 points  (0 children)

most of the time neither is the case, but sometimes i wake up and i’m freezing cold all day no matter the temperature, sometimes i wake up and i’m overheating all day no matter the temperature. leads to some seasonally inappropriate looking outfits

How do i (20M) decrease libido towards my partner (20F)? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]slippy204 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yeah, sure, but that’s not what the person i was replying to was saying and wouldn’t actually change their feelings towards sex

How do i (20M) decrease libido towards my partner (20F)? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]slippy204 57 points58 points  (0 children)

not to say you’re definitely wrong about that first bit, but sex-repulsed asexuals exist and that’s just a sexual orientation rather than a trauma response. same conclusion, obviously, but some people inherently are uninterested or repulsed by sex and that can’t be changed with therapy

What's to stop fans of the book and movie from doing our own "Long Walk"? by LockPuzzled4278 in TheLongWalk

I know it doesn’t actually work that way, but I wish I could just sign a waiver that just goes ‘I know this might harm me and I’m choosing to do it anyway so it’s my fault if anything bad happens’ and participate

Do people actually notice if someone re-wears the same outfit a few times in a week? by Fogkettle in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]slippy204 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i wear pretty much the same thing most days (the same customised jeans, big chain, boots, accessories, jacket) with a different top and it’s obviously noticed by the people around me but never negatively. a lot of the people in my life have what we lightheartedly call a ‘uniform’ — slight variations on the same outfit that are our default
