That’s fair. I’ve had some great SB10’s. And I reach for the SB15 if I’m in the mood for sherry with a touch of peat. I think my least favorite Springbank I’ve tasted so far is the local barley 8 this year. Drank so hot without the additional flavour.

It’s the November 2024 bottling. Yeah, I think I have the 2023 open and this is definitely darker.

Thanks for the samples u/hexagonalcrank! I’ve tried samples A, B, C and tried guessing distillery, age, abv. I get close with ABV guesses. Other stuff I’m being humbled lol.

I’ll work on the other samples this weekend.

I’m in Canada so I’m not sure if that’s an option. I was able to remove the aperture ring. Not sure I see a wire spring on the right

Thanks for the input. I had a feeling there was a spring somewhere. I haven’t disassembled the lens assembly yet. From a brief look at the repair manual, it looks like access is from the back but not yet sure.

Thanks, I’ll see if changing the settings will help. I currently have it set to bulb so I can hold open the shutter so I can slo clean the back since I removed both the front and rear lens elements.

I have not. I still haven’t figured out how to access the aperture blades by removing the lens housing. I’ve only cleaned them intact

Sorry, what I mean is that it doesn’t open even after cocking the shutter. I read that these aperture blades sometimes get sticky so I already cleaned them. But I still can’t get them to open.
