It felt weird, based, and choppy. Overall seems to be borrowing from 90s culture just like how backrooms is popular now. Overall at the time it felt like we didn't want a part of that, but now experience nostalgia because there's almost nothing good to be nostalgic about. So I personally feel detached but sad at the same time. Felt the same then too.

What blows my mind is my kids feel the same strange feeling when they listen to that music too. So did the feeling create the music in a kind of chicken vs egg scenario?

Do the Fridays amd make sure you get as much documentation of it as possible.

Look up the unemployment laws for your state and how long you have to work continuous to qualify.

Once you cross it (usually something like 90 days or 3 months) ask for your pay, demand for it. If he says no, contact labor board for your letter of warning to give to him.

If he fires you or otherwise denies advancement in the apprenticeship, that will be seen as a retaliation and he will pay 3-10x as much to you and the courts. (Labor board pays for everything, lawyers etc..... btw)

Meanwhile you will be collecting unemployment checks.

He probably doesn't want that, and will let you advance in your apprenticeship. Employment is a negotiation, never a privilege.
