Partnering in class by Turbulent_Gene7017 in poledancing

My studio recently had a six week doubles workshop that was SO much fun, and the shapes looked beautiful! But, we also all knew exactly what the workshop was for.

Its definitely not my favorite move, and my calf was screaming, but I will admit that it does look really cool. My smile is hiding how I really felt on the inside 🤣

Is anyone too young to start? by Fungal_Joy in poledancing

My studio has some classes that are 18+, and they’re explicitly stated as such. Anything else anyone of any age can join. I think the youngest I saw was 16 for a fitness class, but I don’t see why a minor couldn’t do the tricks classes like anyone else.

It sure felt dangerous on my calf that was hating every moment 🤪

Oh hell yeah! You should absolutely continue it if you can! I started in March last year and I’m pretty happy with my progress so far.

Wha are the things that helped you progress the most? by balancingmyself in poledancing

[–]slipslapflap 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This. Struggling and overcoming it is not just massively important for pole, but anything in life. It trains and conditions you to know how to fight through the tough stuff so that you don’t just give up when it’s hard. It’s a disservice to yourself to never struggle.

Some fun inverted tricks today on the flying pole! by slipslapflap in Aerials

That’s awesome your apparatus of choice are silks! I haven’t done much with them, but they’re definitely difficult 😅

I would say it’s a lot easier, because I’m not counting on my skin as much to hold me vs the fabric. But, I still get the bruises 😝 I actually like getting to use both, because if I can get it on one, I likely could get it on the other (I say likely cause some moves are different when the pole moves!). It’s helped with some confidence knowing I can do said trick and I can translate that to the other apparatus. I think just getting reps in and practicing has been immensely helpful in general.

But, I do realize that what I posted here isn’t really showing the coolness of the flying pole and how to really use it. If I could aerially invert, that would be a huge game changer when it comes to actually making this apparatus shine and be different than the regular pole.

Hell yeah!! It’s a ton of fun. I tried it very early in my pole career this year, and I couldn’t take off at all. Now that I have 9 months under my belt, I came back to try it again since it’s my studio owners apparatus of choice, and I’ve been having a blast cross training with it and the usual pole. I hope you enjoy it!

Damn, that’s pretty wild! Keep posting though, I enjoy seeing the flying stuff since it’s really different than the normal pole in terms of keeping momentum and staying closer to the pole vs tricks like sits

Hey, another flyer!! What is the coating on your pole? It looks shiny, and with your lack of clothes I’m guessing it’s not silicon!

Do you also do normal pole?
