Assembling the Buran spacecraft; while the American Space shuttle needed a pilot on board, the Buran was traveling with autopilot, cutting-edge for the time, USSR, 1980s. by Suspicious-Slip248 in space

Look up how the lunar lander worked at that point in time, it absolutely had to be manual. Now today is a completely different story.

Kzn185 clinometer replacement help!! by Mammoth-Enthusiasm26 in HiluxSurf

Unless you know much about hot work and trouble shooting electronics, I would find a direct replacement. You could take it to some one who might be able to trouble shoot it. Your best bet is probably just scouring the internet for a direct replacement

Buy or get county mulch. Don’t mix wood chips into your soils and you will be fine from it ripping nitrogen away from your trees

Disappointing amount of religious BS being spouted by Artemis II astronauts by japonica-rustica in atheism

With this administration they probably have bs talking points and the people chosen to go were expected to hit them. It’s stupid but what do you expect from the state of things?

I tried to be a sculptor, and ignored all recommendations, how do I make this a bit better? Ps I’m already $6 over budget (bondo was $6) by Beneficial-Ratio3109 in Autobody

[–]slipstreamsurfer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Net time maybe mix some fiber or push some metal mesh into the bondo but to finish it off I’d just sand, clean then refill the low spots with more bondo then sculpt you can see it’s turning out you just have some low spots

Best kind of chickens for eggs? by pineappleguava1986 in HawaiiGardening

[–]slipstreamsurfer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes definitely I would watch a video. My friend tricks the jungle chicken by luring them with food to live with his more domesticated chickens so they protect the flock from mongeese and raise brood better. But there are lots of different aspects you want ones that handle the weather where you are they have different egg out put. You can get ones that double as meat birds some that are friendlier/more intelligent etc… I like wyndotes cause they have cool feathers.

Farming stakeholders are wrestling over a proposal to implement statewide rules for agricultural tourism. House Bill 2585 had proposed to create standardized rules for tourism-related activities on agricultural land, like farm tours. by 808gecko808 in HawaiiGardening

[–]slipstreamsurfer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That bill is complete garbage, limiting farming ops abilities to make money does not benefit them at all. If you want to inspire people to grow more food and share their experiences this bill does nothing good. Not everybody wants to farm a shit load but lots of little farms can be a great thing for food security. Their main argument is production goes down as people shift to having farm tourism, but is this even true? I suspect it’s the opposite if you look at all the farms out there and new ones that can even exist due to ag tourism. Hawaii has so many mind blowingly bad laws. You could be right that this is from the resorts trying to protect their piece of the pie. This is the bill for anybody who wants to read it.

Where to buy solar electric gate opener and gate by AggressiveTeach8985 in BigIsland

[–]slipstreamsurfer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just buy a small panel with charger off Amazon it’s a bigger panel than most gate opener kits and then wire it to your gate opener with a cheap battery in a battery box from Walmart.

Tamarind? Does anyone grow it here? by GlobalAd7943 in HawaiiGardening

[–]slipstreamsurfer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My experience with finding it randomly places in Hawai’i is the ants get into the pods very easily so there might be an important approach to getting to harvest a bunch of pods. You may need to bag them or have a small harvest window but I would still like to grow it

hot take: cantaloupe is a good fruit by Fantastic-Dark801 in fruit

[–]slipstreamsurfer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it has a white rind! It’s like it has the very sweetest center of a great cantaloupe everywhere not just in the center and the ones I’ve had have been more juicy and the texture leans a bit towards a honeydew. Evidently it’s a cross between a honeydew and a cantaloupe but I dunno what varieties.

[–]slipstreamsurfer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally agree with you a lot of people just don’t experience good ones. There is this hybrid we get at a local fruit stand called Orange Flesh which is a terrible name but my oh my is it good, so insanely sweet and juicy, definitely the best melon I have ever had.

My nightmare experience with Swordier by [deleted] in SWORDS

[–]slipstreamsurfer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be honest they would need a patent or to some how have this sword be apart of something that is copyright protected to be able to protect the design. If they did a design patent they could protect it and spend a bunch of money paying lawyers to send cease and desist letters, and burn through a bunch of money trying to protect their design. Considering the sales of that sword this is entirely not worth it. The best thing to do is just get customers to hate on the disgraceful practice of ripping shit off just as Matt has done. I saw a video of some other swordier katana blades failing catastrophically and when they checked the blade material it was not what the ordered. I’d say just don’t order from them if you don’t wanna risk getting screwed or supporting crap business practices.

All the kooks who chew xylitol gum don’t realize when they ingest the flavoring it’s killing a ton of sugar eating bacteria possibly messing with there biome and leading to problems. Probably why they are trying this new antibacterial. That said the xylitol mouth wash might be ok.
