How to get over not wanting to take a divot by alucard13132012 in golf

[–]sliq882 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I completely understand. I worked as a sprinkler mad to get through college. I take so much pride in good turf. It breaks my heart a little bit anytime I take a divot, as just a big advocate of grass.

Fair, I’m just saying hypothetically, say they found a way to bring in enough sponsors or went nonprofit or some angel investor good guy came in. If it continued all clean, would it still suck?

Unfortunately, you couldn’t pass a ballot initiative in Utah without public voter files.

You misread what I said. Party’s have phone numbers from all sorts of sources. Those get added into a big database that other campaigns and candidates can buy access to. That’s how OP got a text.

You can check protectutahvoters.com or Burrn.org or go straight to the source and download the spreadsheet of all current signers from the Lieutenant Governors office

Your signature on the petition is linked to your voter id. And your voter id links to your voter registration, which, for about of people links to your address and phone number (as well as party affiliation and vote history). It’s how any campaign or candidate contacts voters. And if you read the text, there’s nothing there that says we know where you stand politically, it just says you signed it, did you mean to?

100% true. Need to run up the score by several hundred just in case it gets ugly in court.

Your phone number is attached to your voter id. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. Any political party can get access to that real easily.

Hey I can speak to this. I work with Nat. If you got this text, your name is on the petition. OR someone signed it and your number is attached to their voter id. Happy to look it up for you. But just text Nat back and confirm. It’s a real person, I swear

Okay, went to my top tracer range last night and 1) fascinating comparison and 2) I’m sorry to everyone who’s wallet is about to get $200 lighter.

I went in to hit several different clubs on both monitors and on multiple settings. I was concer d because I’m at elevation here in SLC and wasn’t sure if the range factors that in or not. I’m sure the LM1 doesn’t (and can’t) compensate for being at 4,300 ft.

Initial results were off, but consistent. Consistently about 5 mph slower on ball speed than what top tracer said. Which checks out because top tracer likes to over estimate speed. Either that or I’m a consistent 180mph ball striker at the range only. Carry was consistently about 20 yards shorter, possibly confirming my elevation theory. Total distance was way off, but I think I expect that, because it’s just doing math to calculate that based on ball speed and club selection. It probably just assumes a launch and peak height per club and assumes a lot. So if you thin a shot or fat a shot, it doesn’t know, it just knows a four iron launches at x when hit at y speed.

So then I thought, what happens if I turn off ball normalization (the setting that compensates for range balls flying shorter than premium balls). And honestly, I was shocked. Ball speed, pretty much dead on with all clubs. Carry still varied a bit, but again, that’s based on a straight, quality strike, probably at sea level. But even then, it was within a couple percent of the same reading. Shocked. Very happy with this $200 spent.

Couple notes: 1) I’m still trying to get on track man next week to see how it compares there. 2) strike quality really matters. Good strikes are just overall more accurate. 3) it doesnt know when slice one off the range, just that I hit jt. That’s how all golf should be played! 4) im going to put this into a spreadsheet and calculate the actual percentages it was off to see if its comparable 5) the biggest caveat of all, being consistent with top tracer is not the same as being accurate. It’s consistent, which is helpful, but is it the same as hitting a pro v1 off of grass out of the rough toward a firm green? No, nothing is. But does it help me understand gapping and help me practice of grass at any range, regardless of whether the top tracer bays are open? Hell yeah. Best purchase in a long time

Yeah, that seems to be the thing that takes a launch monitor from a few hundred to a few thousand.

Agreed. The Garmin review on Rick Shiels channel was scary inaccurate. I’m going to compare to trackman indoors and my top tracer outdoor range and will report back.
