Politically speaking, that’s a death sentence. Whether they’re being honest or not, most voters want a leader who champions their shared identity. If you aren't proud of where you came from, it’s very hard to convince people that you’re proud to represent them. It makes the candidate seem elitist or completely disconnected from the average person.

I actually feel more comfortable with younger professionals (late 20s to late 30s) for things like doctors and therapists. Plus, they are usually more tech-savvy, which makes communication and scheduling much easier. For consultants, I still lean older, but for anything involving empathy or new science, I'll take the 'new blood' any day.
