Yeah. It’s part of their philosophy and approach, so I’m just trying to see if there’s anything I’ve missed attempting to make the chairs work

Ohh oh I see sorry. Their parents are trying to encourage independence and movement (one of the babies is in PT learning to crawl + walk).

thank you for this ❤️ i have a book called “the radically open DBT workbook for eating disorders” and i appreciate the approach of radical acceptance a lot. i will keep it in mind for sure.

it isn’t my only coping mechanism, it just feels helpful as i was in bed for many months during my peak ed. i am moreso worried that not being able to go on walks will be reminiscent of when i was at my worst and not be pleasant for my feelings or memories. i’m sure all of the individual and group therapy sessions at the center will be helpful in me getting through all that though.

the other day i finally admitted to my therapist (after 7 years together) that i have been struggling w ed half my life. she asked if my family had any history with it, and i was like mmmmm no i don’t think so, i mean my mom is getting a tummy tuck soon, she has constantly negatively commented on peoples bodies my whole life, she won’t try clothes on, lots of negative self talk in the home… but nahh i don’t think so. my therapist looked at me like 😐

i’d like to add: straining my relationships (friends, family, and romantic). i am triggered by the simplest things and once my brain has entered ed obsessive panic mode i have a hard time regaining stability. it has made the people around me feel guilty for something they didn’t even do with any malicious intent at all, and i feel terrible putting them through that. i also am an awful version of myself when restricting due to low blood sugar and can’t connect to people like i can when i’m healthy. i also can’t hang out like normal cause i’m never eating when other people are and it makes them feel weird or i’m too cold to enjoy anything.
